the A.S.S. stopped working. No biggie though, it just meant i no longer needed to hit the button EVERY TIME.
Trip coming up so I took it in for recalls including the battery which they replaced. Now it takes 0.25 seconds of being stopped to initiate A.S.S.
So... The A.S.S. apparently has the means to read the battery status?

Yes, battery SOC is one of many parameters that disable ASS.

You may find that if your Mav. isn't driven 15-20 miles per day, the battery is not maintained at a sufficient SOC to keep the Auto Stop working and if this goes on for several days, the 12V outlet which is supposed to remain active for 60-90 min. after stopping will shut off with the key. It may take as much as 100 miles highway driving to fully bring it back up or an overnight trickle charge.
