I had a soft roll up tonneau cover on my F150 and took it thru auto car washes with no problem. Now, these were always 'touchless' car washes, so never had a problem. I never checked to see if there was water that leaked into the bed, but never a big deal since I did not carry stuff that could be damaged if water came into contact with it.

I go through a brush style all the time with mine. It hurts neither the paint or cover. But it is a very modern soft cloth style. Not a machine from the 80's with actual bristle style brush rollers

I hope this helps. My experience has been good with car washes and my tonneau cover. I have owned my maverick for two months and have visited a car wash weekly. My tonneau cover is a hard top from Ford. Best of luck to you.

Got Ford soft as well, no problem some water leaks near tailgate. My car wash club place ( free for first year thanks to Ford. Dealer ) misses a tiny triangle center just behind window.
