Added to the Mav today:
  • Vredestein Pinza AT 245/65 17's
  • Cab spoiler
  • Buschur's air intake
Coming from the Pirelli Scorpion ASRs, these Vreds look and handle so much better. Wider track, higher sidewall, slightly more aggressive tread that handles better (esp in the wet), while being quieter and retaining the agile turn-in characteristics of the Scorpions. All the snow melted so will have to wait to put them through the winter test.

Buschur's air intake adds an unmistakeable "whoosh" soundtrack to the Maverick. I've owned a few tuned/boosted cars so it's something I like to hear when driving (sometimes). It definitely won't be for everyone. The crappy radio can easily wash out the sound if needed.

Cab spoiler added about 20 HP. JK...just wanted to add something to make it look sportier.

I’m glad you know what look I’m trying to pull off.

There’s only so much room in the wheel well and I have about 3/4” left before rubbing. So unless I shave, lift, or add spacers (which I’m not looking to do) the tire/wheel isn’t growing much.

My intention is to have a truck that can handle just about any terrain I’d encounter comfortably, safely, quietly, efficiently, without having to worry about flats/dented wheels or the salt/rocks/mud/grime that a spaced out wheel would splatter everywhere.

I’ve also owned my fair share of big wheels w/ rubber bands on lowered vehicles, and while I admire that look, it’s not comfortable, functional, nor practical in my area of the NE, especially at this stage in my life. If I lived in Tampa, I’d might consider a drop w/20s, but then again, I probably wouldn’t be driving an FX4 AWD EB in the first place.

After a week of contacting local dealers I finally called at the right time and picked up a basic FWD ECO XLT
Will drive this until my Hot Pepper Lariat Lux shows up
I have a feeling my dad is going to want me to pass it down to him
He was quite impressed with it (he loved his Ranger in the 90’s)

Added a Rev/BAK Revolver X4s hard roll up tonneau today. Straightforward install while the tailgate is a tad tougher to close, as some have already said. Solid, sleek, and secure.

Looks good, really like my x4s so far. Is that emblem cover the one from etsy? Is that the orange or red?

Thanks! X4s seems good so far, just took so long to come in! Fingers weren't happy trying to install in the cold. And yes, the decals (both red/black Ford emblem and tailgate letters in "lightning") were Etsy

I ordered the orange decal covers but haven't put them on yet as the color looks a little off. I guess I could put them on and if I don't like it just remove them.

Ford Maverick AREA 51 Maverick Photos Thread 20220124_185942

Got this on Monday, 1/24. It's been cold and snowy in Youngstown, Ohio.

Was second guessing the color choice. Didn't want the velocity blue, but also wanted to avoid blacks, grays and white colors for the truck. Started seeing more photos of Area 51 and it was looking more grayish blue. But that's lighting. In the day this is more the color I had anticipated and happy with it. Glad I didn't get the Velocity blue.
