One correction, turns out I have a Galaxy A14 not A10. Likely that does not matter much to your work with Ford but it may. I will wager its a software problem not bad hardware because it is so very repeatable at exact 90 second intervals, at least for me, and the hardware works using your settings workaround. That only matters because software is not warrantied.

Well, another update. This did NOT fix my issue, it ran better for a few days and started happening again. Also IOS 18 does not help. I did find a very very interesting thing out this evening after speaking to Apple "tier whatever"

Directly from Apple's team

"This is a documented and known issue between Apple and Ford on the 22,23, and 24 years Ford Maverick. The problem is not within the hands of Apple, but strictly in Fords. We have a ticket between our team and their's, and they are aware they need to fix the issue on their end".

They can not provide me any documentation, but this staff member was well aware of my problems almost down to the "T".

I have it escalated to Ford via the Customer Relations team. No one at Ford that I have been able to speak to is aware of the problem. I was offered to drop my vehicle off and it will stay at the dealership until it is repaired or decided it can not be repaired.

I'm really looking forward to a resolution as I love my Mav.

I will keep this post updated once I find out more. It's very frustrating to have calls disconnect randomly. I'm still not sure of the true "handshake" difference between a phone call via apple CarPlay and say navigation, music, etc. It's maddening that it works perfect, other than phone calls.

The bluetooth switched off strategy still works for me make uninterrupted calls using Android.

The problem may not technically be a Ford problem. The Sync is a Microsoft product. Ford may need to deal with the overhead of a contract to fix this. Perhaps it would be faster to raise the issue with Microsoft so they are sure to correct this in their next software delivery to Ford.

The downside to the XL and XLT is they use "sync 2.5 or sync lite (to my knowledge), only the Lariat uses sync 3 (and all 2025 models use sync 4).

it’s definitely a software issue on Fords side for apple carplay, but ford does not handle the software (like sync) so it most likely will be based on a 3rd party working with Ford to provide a software update (if they even can or will).

my android works perfect without any hoops to jump through.

Also I don't think it's a iPhone issue I think it's a Maverick radio issue, with the phone call problem.

I also had a issue with my Pixel 9 pro XL when I first got it two weeks ago. I couldn't hear the other person, changing this setting under call privacy in the phone settings on the radio fixed the issue.

It was enabled causing me not to hear the other caller, disabling the setting fixed it.

Disabling "Mute Audio in Privacy" worked for me as well. My Pixel 8 was paired and connected to my '24 Mav XLT, and whether Android Auto was running or not, phone calls and Teams audio over Bluetooth were muted (speaker and mic) until I disabled this setting.
