WARNING! I got around to installing the struts today. Again, everything looks like the MRT hood struts. I decided to move the hood up and down to exercise the struts. After a couple of mild movements, the passenger side strut froze, the hood was frozen in place and the strut had to be removed. I'm glad the hood wasn't fully closed when this happened. I returned them and wondering if I dare try again 🤔
Hum, sounds like you get what you pay for on the Klutchtech Hood Struts. Glad I got the RedLine, they've been flawless in hot and freezing cold weather.

Dido for me. The RedLine Struts have worked very well. I had them on my Ranger so I wanted them on my Maverick.

I just installed a set of Klutchtech struts, the parts look well made, powder coating looks good.
‘instructions are easy to follow, over all a great deal, plus it raises the hood a few more inches when open. For 55$ it’s a win.

I also prefer the Redline Tuning system as you only need to loosen one of the two bolts on the hood hinge to use their bracket. This insures that you don't lose the factory alignment of your hood. (y)

Anyone know how to fix the hood alignment? I installed hood struts but I’ve messed up the alignment somehow. Any tips of tricks to get it back in alignment?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I installed some Klutchtech struts this weekend. I had a minor issue or two installing the passenger side bracket. The primary issue was that using the three provided washers resulted in not being able to get the provided bolt to re-seat in the threads of the washer reservoir clip. I was eventually able to get it working by using only two washers and the provided bolt, but that was after some adventures of the washers slipping and one or more of them falling down into the engine compartment.

At another point I actually fumbled the bracket and it fell down into the engine compartment. I spend more time trying to retrieve the parts that I dropped than I did installing the mod.

Best tip I found was to put some painter's tape across the top of the hood and then cut it where the gap is so that it can be used to align the hood. I also used a sharpie to outline around the hood brackets to help realignment.

I didn't install the optional hood spring. Everything seemed to work fine without it.
