Hello just got my Maverick XLT, all-wheel-drive FX4 package. My last vehicle was a titan that had the premium sound and I know and didn’t expect or need to get that type of sound quality. I’m sure this is a little redundant but if anybody could tell me if they’ve made one simple upgrade on the xl.t sound system in the Maverick that really helped out a lot I would appreciate it. Maybe somebody did just the door speakers or maybe just the back speakers and if it was worth it or not or any advice thank you.

Door speakers will make a huge difference. If you're not planning to install an amplifier, I recommend installing bass blockers because I don't know what if any filtering the stock system is doing and I don't like blowing up perfectly good speaker.

I have a set of Focal RSE-165 that I enjoy, and they're sometimes on sale for $150. Rockford makes a decent 6.5 component set for under $100. Kicker KS series are probably the most I'd spend without an amp, and I saw they're on sale at Crutchfield for $200 (normally like $250-300). Everyone's ears are different but I personally don't like the entry-level Hertz (I think it's the Uno series).

It is a little fiddly getting the grilles off the dash tweeters and you'll probably have to remove any trim from a tweeter to make it fit, and then double-stick tape them in place. Check the sticky thread pinned in this forum for descriptions and install pics.

Yep. Sticky threads are always at the top of the subforum.

This particular subforum only has one right now, but others have several.

I replaced the door speakers with Morels from Crutchfield. Big improvement.

I agree, the front speakers can and will make a big difference.
I went with a pair of Infinity Reference REF-6532IX, along with some sound deadener and based on several posts here at MTC - I decided to leave the original back pillar speakers and front tweeters in place. I have some other changes coming with a DSP (because I budgeted for it) but am quite pleased with the sound.
