Ford has let us down in quality and customer service.
Well, your dealership did, anyway.

I think you'll probably have to have this fixed with paintless dent repair since the roof is tweaked.

The roof wasnt dented and isnt dented now. Something lifted the base. If I push down on the rear it almost sits flush on the roof with being slightly raised in the front , but without adhesion, it doesnt make a difference what I do. We might just have to get some 3M adhesive to seal it, but it will look awkward.

That's good to hear. Looking at the pictures of the mount, I didn't figure it could pull away light that without bending the sheet metal or coming completely loose.

The dealer isn't Ford, though. Both Ford and the dealer will tell you this, because they will blame problems on each other. Dealers are semi-independent, and sell Fords under license.

I think all the sealing is done by the round rubber gasket at the vehicle hole, so as long as you can get the whole assembly tight from underneath, you should be okay water-wise.

Since you want to seal the entire base, I think the adhesive is the way to go. If you’re good at “arts and crafts” I’d put a layer of 3M VHB tape on the antenna base so that it’s a sort of permanent sticky gasket. It will take several strips and you will only get one shot at positioning the antenna, but I think that has more potential than using goop. But maybe there is goop specifically made for situations like this that will adhere to paint but not ruin it when you try to clean up excess.

Good luck.

You guys have had me running down stairs and out the garage twice (so far) today to check things that were brought up here. Guess I am getting some exercise, like it or not. lol....

Nope, mine is still fine and I use a auto wash place (water pressure only on the roof) often since I purchase the truck 11 month ago.

Thanks so much for the suggestions.
