My XLT likewise had similar mileage on the odo, and I was assured that nobody had test driven it, was told they test 'em a bit at the factory to check them out. Mine would have been very early production, and I don't mind 'em taking the time to make things right - haven't noted anything not done right (so far), and it's worked perfectly.
I guess mine did not get pulled for testing as I took delivery with 5 miles on the truck, no observed quality issues and I don’t really have any issues with brake regeneration.

My Chevy volt has a paddle on the back of the steering wheel that I have to press and hold each time to activate regenerative braking, and it is so annoying and not aggressive enough.
RE the Volt, ignore the paddle. The brake pedal does the same thing, and it is more granular.

For the most part I love the truck but there are few things which are not great. Mainly quality related things:
- The plastic trim around the bed is not fit well and loose on 2 corners
- The same trim looks already inconsistent in coloration (even after detailing), would be interesting to see how it looks in few month.
- The fit of the trim around the wheels under the truck looks just not right. It looks uneven and not nice. Maybe other people who are less OCD wont care that much.
- Few of the plastic trims inside were off, I had to pull/push them in place.
- The truck keys are made super cheaply. One of them has still sharp corners and the finish of it is just rough. The second one was dropped by someone in the dealership and dragged on the floor, full of scuffs and scratches.
- I have a small scratch in front of the truck (size of a one cent piece). Nothing dramatic but a brand new truck should not have scratches on. The dealership wanted to polish it out but I was afraid they would damage the paint, left it as it is.

We all know this is a cheap truck but there are things which not cost much money to make it right. But again, those are minor things and overall the truck is very nice but since you asked I wanted to list few of the dislikes. Full report will follow shortly.

PS: My truck had over 26 miles on it. First I thought one of the sales people took it for a joyride but than I found a sticker on the window that my truck was randomly selected for factory test drive. Actually not a bad thing.
BAD QUALITY CONTROL

You are correct. That wheel trim does NOT look good.
I would have not accepted the truck...no excuse for this. Call me ocd. I wonder if quality is suffering because their pushing these out too fast.

I took a longer freeway trip today and have to say the ride on the freeway is really comfy BUT I need to get used to the fact, that as soon as I take the foot of the gas pedal, the truck goes into the regeneration mode and slows down. It is kind of weird that you have to have your foot constantly on the gas pedal, so I ended up using the cruise control as much as I could. I am really glad I have the XLT trim, I have the feeling I will be using the cruise control every time I am on the freeway.

So we are 150 miles out and here few more impressions:

- The seats are super comfy. I was afraid with my high BMI I would have issues with the small seats, but seats are great.
- I took my dad for a ride and first thing he mentioned: "This feels like a car, not a truck" I think we heard this almost on every report and I 100% concur.
- Tons of space inside, you don't feel like you are driving in a small truck.
- I experience all sort of weird smells and noises in the truck. I guess that is the nature of the (hybrid) beast and we will get used to it. The engine is pretty loud, both in hybrid and gas mode.
- AC works great
- The "raspy" ride is more in the City, on the freeway you don't feel it. But overall, once you take your food from the gas, you have the feeling you are driving with the parking brake on, you have to have your foot constantly on the gas pedal to move forward.
- With the mix Freeway/City ride I got on 120 miles exactly 42 mpg, not bad Ford with your estimation!
- The lane keep assist is the worse I have seen on any car or truck, doesn't work that great. Not a big issue though.
- I had 2 additional people in the truck today and we all 3 fit perfectly in.
- Speaking of quality: I opened to hood to see what is going on there. There were several random loose tapes around some of the components I had to remove. There is also a piece of cable with a connector at the end, which floats freely in the engine bay?!!!??? Are you kidding me? WTH is that?? (see picture below). I might bring it to the dealership or just tie it somewhere where it doesn't float around freely.

Other than that, I still love the truck. I think this is one of the coolest and best looking trucks on the market. I installed the Extang Trifecta Signature cover and it looks even better with the cover on it. I love this cover, the only complain I have, it flatters pretty heavily during the drive on the freeway. I have to see if I need to change the position to change that but otherwise the cover looks great (see below). Will report more soon.

That loose green connector makes to wonder what was left off
The connector is closed and looks like a unit you can test things with, but still, it should not float there around.

You would hope that Ford will adjust and tighten up their production processes as they learn and go along.

Thanks everyone for your messages. I have added two more pictures in my original post. Please see below answers to some of the questions:

- Regenerative braking is defensively something I need to get used to. No, there is no need to push any button and it happens automatically, but as far as I can judge, it happens all the time. Braking and overall driving feels pretty "raspy". When you drive downhill everything feels pretty "rough" and "raspy". Nothing dramatic but something to get used to.
- The picture of the trim around the wheels is below, I dont know how to call it. And no, you dont have to crawl under the truck to see it. The truck is higher than a normal car and it was actually the very first thing caught my attention as I first saw the truck. I had to adjust it here and there but for me it still doesn't look right, but again it is probably just me.
- The keypad is part of the XLT package
- I ordered beginning of August but last modification was made end of August.

Few other random impressions:

- The seats are super comfy and nice
- The visibility is above average and fantastic for a truck
- The Radio screen in Apple Car play mode has a bad contrast, I have to see how to change it but I think I read other reports about it and it is not possible to change.
- The gas and brake pedals are very steep and it feels very uncomfortable. I am glad I have a
cruise control, somehow I have the feeling I will use it on this truck all the time.
- The lane keeping assist doesn't work when you are slower than 40mph. This is the first car/truck I have seen like that. I also noticed that there is no alarm for the LKA with my car it just vibrates, even though I adjusted for the alarm.

Other than that, still love the truck and very happy it is here.

Will report more as we go.

One of the fender liners on my old Honda Fit is halfway torn off, so I’ll just be glad to have proper ones again.

Congratulations on your new ride and thanks for posting all the insights on your hybrid truck. Mine is a carbon copy of yours, although it is still unscheduled. Expecting it to arrive soon.
Assuming yours came with no leather steering wheel, can you please take a quick measurement of the grip circumference at the top (12 o'clock) of the steering wheel and the bulge (2 o'clock) as well? Thank you.

@Sylvester, sure thing! And, thanks for helping out!
Do it like this: Cut a piece of paper and wrap it around the steering wheel grip circumference at the top (12 o'clock position), and with a pen or pencil mark down on the paper where the edge is, the total width (picture below):

Now do a second measure for the bulge (2 o'clock position).

Ask the lady in the house if she can lend you a millimeter soft measuring tape and take a picture of each position:

Then kindly reply to this post with the pictures you took with the measurements. Hope this helps! Thanks again!!

Put my order in sept.carbonized gray luxury package .keeping my fingers crossed.hopefully here a build date soon.
My order Confirmed 09/30/21 XLT Luxury 360 hybrid hopeful for a build date soon too. It's been hard with all the ecoboost arrivals and now Hybrids. I really hope Ford gets it together soon. I don't understand Ford building and using resources for newer confirmed orders then mine. XLT Lux 360 builds other then the power train and motor use/have the same features, same resources..... catch up Hybrid orders before new Ecoboost orders....

I’ve had my AWD XL for about 3 weeks now and am enjoying following along with a hybrid owners “real time” review. I like how you’re able to say “I don’t like this, and this is crappy, and I wish this was different…. BUT I still love the truck!”…. That’s very much along the lines with how I’ve felt…. I love it, it’s exactly what I needed and it’s exceeded my expectations in some areas…. But man, my minor gripes were easily solvable/included and they’re hard to completely ignore (but also things I can eventually fix/upgrade)…. But the fact is, I wasn’t getting what I needed along with the fixes to my minor gripes anywhere close to 26k OTD, so I love it in that’s it’s everything I needed and most of what I wanted
Definitely keep up with the updates and thanks for sharing your experience(s)
