Like many of you, the stock system is not cutting it for me. I am in general impressed with the imaging and staging (when using a wired source with a high quality MP3 or FLAC); my hope is I can get a clean signal from the HU. I'm going to start with more power and a DSP. I'm going to document the process here in case others can get some value.

Amp rack location. Will flatten the "ears" on the existing bracket.

Waiting for some more parts to arrive. Will build up the rack this weekend and provide a detailed drawing.

Love seeing audio builds. Waiting for the weather to warm up here to start mine.

So far behind on this. Have made progress - definitely not a budget friendly build happening here. Need to pull trim to run the power cable. Not as much room as I hoped. Custom harness connections to allow for easy adjustments to the ststem.

Ending up tapping the 5mm holes in the existing bracket to mount the amp rack. Should be plenty strong. Soldered all the terminals after crimping the conductor grip

I'm interested in suggested parts like speakers, etc. for a budget friendly upgrade. 🍿

Me personally, I’ll never get tired of audio build threads (well, as long as it’s not the same build over and over again, but even then 😂😂)

my first reaction…. AUDISON!!! At a point I was going to go with an all audison build, vice components but with a bit 10 (but ended up with all hertz components and kicker amps and sub with an audiocontrol lc2iPro)

Looking forward to seeing how it turns out!

Looking forward to seeing more progress on this build 👍🏻 what all needed to be trimmed to fit the sub and box? Is that a custom box or did it come with the JL sub? Also did you do the wire harness yourself or but it?

Sub is a JL micro sub cp108-w3v3. Box is 18.5 in long, 11in wide, and 5.125 in tall. Fits perfectly after removing the tub. Harness was purchased and then highly customized. Didn’t want to use a single connector - split it into multiple parts to make updates easy.
