ok i'm late to this thread, but that top does look interesting, and a decent price. for those of you who have one, how easy is it to remove and re-attach for moving tall cargo? can 2 folk do it in just a few minutes? still happy with it?
Two people can install or remove it easily. Depending on who made it there are several different ways of attachment. Some are very simple attachments and others are more elaborate using existing holes in bedsides. Some are made to fit behind tiedown brackets and rails that screw into bedsides. The brackets on the one I purchased are very simple and the one's on Don 806's are attached into existing tapped holes in the bed.

super easy to remove. Two of us did it in less than 10 minutes. I need to remove it again at some point, I got a new bottom seal for it

yeah. that's a bit of a problem. so many different vendors hard to know which one is which. i was browsing last night and found quite a few. some use the same photos, some are slightly different. some had free shipping (which i'm sure is bundled into the cost) and one was $400.

i'm not going to order anything major until the vehicle is in my driveway. these look like a good option, i wonder how much the price will go up with tariffs though.

thanks all you guys posting your tops though. i've bought things off of aliexpress for years, but never more than $200. how is the order process? is it just a fixed item they send you or they have options?

Something to know about alibaba they don’t get paid as a vendor until you confirm you have received the goods they contacted me every day for 3 days as I assembled the top to make sure everything was going well and asking me to receive the top. After I confirmed I wasent missing any parts I received it and then got a message from alibaba that the venders funds have been released.

Different companies have different options. It is very confusing trying to figure them out I wanted sliding side windows but the company I ordered from said they could do them and then found out they could not for the Maverick. I ordered mine without the "molle" outside attachment. They are mounted where the side windows would be. Don806's has them. It was hard understanding the Chinese women (saleswomen). On mine everything was done by messaging, that way you can keep track of all details discussed. Each company is different. When checking on mine I was messaging three different companies at the same time.

The one I got came from AliExpress
Just a tad different than alibaba
Gonna take off and try to redo the seal tomorrow.
I “bent” the six tie downs in the middle, as they wouldn’t clamp down anything as the top hit the bottom of the topper, really couldn’t get them tight without what I did
Got them tight and then took off the front clamp set up to put my tie down rails back in (required some modifications to get the holes lined up on both the tie down rails and the brackets: carbide bit on Dremel does wonders)
And now can only get one of the two bolts back in (holes misaligned) also have to hook up the brake light, but not sure about doing it since it’s a white and not red light? Might just hook it up to my cargo lights? Actually can’t hook it up to brake lights here in Ohio since it’s not red, cargo lights it’s gonna be
Lots of pics

Can you put a tent over it? Is it sturdy enough?

I say yes...........I've climbed on top of it to touch up some paint on the rails without any issues. I can't recall what they say the weight limit of it is.

Think the old rating was 400# but can’t remember its strong.
I replaced the seal on it this weekend, and had neighbor sit on top of it while I was tightening it down and couldn’t tell he was up there. Also poured this afternoon and no water in the bed when it quit, so the new seal may have done the trick 🤞

I did the same thing with the seal. It was too thick. I also bent the support brackets on the inside.

One of my brackets needs bent back also, if I clamp the rear ones all the way down, tailgate won’t close. Have two washers in between clamp on drivers side and SIX on passenger side. I’m also pretty sure I have the front clamps reversed as only one bolt hole lines up on each clamp in the front, didn’t feel like taking the tie downs out to swap them. Project for another day. It is a tad warm inside there when sun is out 😳, opening side doors helps with that a bunch

Success!!!!
Bought this unit: https://www.mastercrafttruckcaps.com/store/Truck-Cap-LOGIC-BOX-Brake-Light-Module-p657540107

-Took out both brake lights (kinda a PIA)
-Right side tapped into the GRAY/VIOLET wire from the plug that attaches to the light, not any wires on the light itself
-ran that wire under the truck to the left brake light area.
-left side tapped into the WHITE/GREEN wire (again from the plug, not the light) and attached to the logic box, and also attached the wire from the right side to the logic box
-3rd brake light power wire to the logic box
-3rd brake light ground wire to the logic box along with another wire that I grounded to the truck (found a nut that fit on a bolt on the inside of the bed
Got dark before I could get pics of the inside wiring. I will post a sketch of how I wired it up tomorrow. the wiring diagram came from a member here in another post, THANKS azadv for that. Still want to put disconnects on the wires to make removing the topper easier if need be.

FYI - have seen several AliExpress Camper Toppers for sale on Craigslist...people that found taking them "off and on" for other purposes was too much trouble.
