Took the maverick for the first time up in the mountains man that awd works well while the rest of the cars got stuck putting chains on and sliding all over the place . It was me and the Susie made it early. But last few days I’ve been noticing tons of rocks in my driveway and garage. So I decide to hit the area in front of the rear wheel with a rubber soft mallet and tons of rocks come flying out on both sides , I think there’s a pocket right before the rear wheel arches that can accumulate rocks and debris. Mystery solved I couldn’t figure where all the rocks were coming from last few days and blaming the kids if they were playing with rocks inside the garage. Lol

I live on a dirt/gravel road. Im sure mine is well over filled in the 5000+ miles I've driven already. Heres to a rusted out truck in a few years....

Hi,

Do you think that's why there were mudflaps in FRONT of the wheels in one picture/thread people were discussing?

I am new to pickups, do people have mudflaps both before and after the tire?---like two sets on each wheel???

Sounds annoying.

I have been watching these threads about the rear wheels/cubbies etc. I have been thinking it really needs an inner finder liner. I agree with the comment above, concerning rust pocket….

I hate seeing stuff like this, makes me worry about rust also over the long term. Road salt, wet snow and dirt and grime from winters over time hanging in those spots could be a real problem.

I too worry about rusting from the inside on these pocket collectors…..just a thought, what about filling these voids with expanding insulation foam?
Thoughts anyone?
