This has been a long time coming. Having leased a 2019 Fusion Energi, and having it scheduled to end 2/28/22, I planned on getting a 2022 Maverick. But the quick shutdown of the banks cramped that idea. So I had my old boss at the dealership I sold Fords for 23 years, make a call to the FMC rep, I got a 12 month extension for the sole purpose to order a 2023.

I did just that on 9/15/22, at 4:30 pm, the moment the banks went live (actually had to come back and we thought they would open at 9 am). Got my order in for an XLT Hybrid, with the XLT Lux Pkg, Remote start, splash guards and tray liners no cloth mats. That's it. Well, that took a long time to get. Had to remove the splash guards as they were a holdup. No worries, as price protection doesn't get its date changed by adding/subtracting a stand alone option. And Ford allowed me to keep extending my lease because I had a verifiable retail order.

Got my old coworker to enter it ROVP with my email and I got my slew of Ford update emails. Never thought I would get it but got the email with a VIN in mid July for an early Sept build. Came in 2 Sundays ago (dealers are closed that day in Pa). Went over a few days later to see it. I had bought my Fusion out a month prior as the buyout vs the value is CRAZY good for me, so things looked up.

Signed my lease, fired up Ford Pass, and let me other old coworker know he didn't need to go over anything (I was the car geek there and I loved knowing my product). Before I left I installed the Mabett mud flaps (literally a 5 minute job with a 7mm socket) and off I went.

Atlas Blue is a stunning color (it's next to my modded 2006 Mustang GT in Vista Blue). I actually went over yesterday to help the detailer (I worked with him for my full 23 years. He's a true detailer who knows how to clean and make cars look amazing). I clayed it for him, and he still had a few bottles of the old Simoniz Glasscoat. That stuff works amazing for it's time. So that's on it. I'll be adding ceramic coat in a few days or so (gonna rain tomorrow).

Very very happy with the color. I'm a Gulf Racing fanatic (royal/orange or light blue/orange), so I already have the orange letters for the tailgate. Gonna contact an old vendor who does tape pinstripes to see if he has a light blue & orange in 1/4" or so and that will go. Once my Ford Pass points hit, I'll use them and the near 9,000 for the modular drop in liner (should only cost me about $140 or so as I'm getting a discount on the liner).

AVS smoke bugshield II should be here tomorrow, a Gulf Racing decal for the back window, I'll get the front windows tinted, that little console drop in kit from Amazon that makes it two tier, and a few more small things (some Top Gun & Goose stuff will be added) then it's done for a while. Roll & Lock tonneau will have to wait as it's pricey.

But so far on the way home, I LOVE IT! Yeah, it's not my loaded Titanium Energi, but this is a Bargain for the price (I paid X-Plan, with price protection already done, so just over invoice, and it caps DOC fee at $100). Can't beat this for $27,5xx! Can't wait to add some miles and see what I get. Gotta get a better pic in the sun. This blue is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Nice ride.

I waited 50 months for mine. Over 3k miles so far and I like it.

50 months? 🤔 That's over 4 years. Truck hasn't been out that long. Something doesn't add up. Did you mean 15 months?

Took me 16 months and a lot of stress. The salesman at the Ford dealership says I have the record for most visits. It's close to work so I'd pop in at lunchtime every week or two. Half way through I wanted to upgrade but they wouldn't let me and I ordered a new Lariat which I totaled 4 months later so now I'm waiting again.
Every time I see a Maverick I think there's a story behind it.
