I just use my cell phone with the Sirius app, works great and doesn't cost any extra as I already pay for one subscription.

Does the Sirius app work with Android Auto or do you have to fiddle with your phone?

The Sirius app works with Android Auto however, it doesn't work great. This is one of the main reasons I went with the Lariat over the XLT. I'm a channel surfer and rarely leave Sirius on one channel for more than 2 or 3 songs in a row. Channel surfing on the app, even with Android Auto is not very intuitive and it's way too distracting while driving.

I set up favorites on my phone to make channel surfing much easier. I do agree, it does require one to focus on the screen and not on the road for a second or two. My other two vehicles have it built in and it was a trade off. This is a work vehicle so I could not justify paying for the Lariat trim versus the XLT trim.

I've had the same set put in. Works great. Just didn't want to the phone app for same reason as above, plus didn't want to over charge the phone battery.

I'm the same way, which is why I only use the app on my motorcycle and pin it to one station. Although I do have thumb controls which allow me to flip between fav's.

A caveat tho - I use Amazon Alexa and have a few Echo Dot's at home which are linked to my Sirius.

If you have the Amazon Alexa app on your phone AND the Sirius XM App, you can have Alexa jump channels all day by asking her to.

I still prefer to have XM radio on my infotainment center.

Yes, it's definitely much better if it's just included the infotainment center but I also understand why some wouldn't want to get the Lariat just for SiriusXM. Supposedly for the 2022 model SiriusXM was only available on the Lariat due to the global chip shortage. Now that we're mostly over that shortage it seems Ford should at least offer SiriusXM on the XL & XLT trims.

My wifes Jeep Sirius subscription expires Jan 1st. I wanted to get that pricing extended for her again and figured since my Maverick plan would run our mid March I'd see if I could get the same plan for that too, for once it expired.

Using the chat feature on their website, it went smoothly. They gave us both another year at $6.60 per month for each radio. For $13.20/month total, I will keep the convenience of not having to go thru the phones app.

Were it much more, I'd do the phone app work around in my Maverick too. I do it on my motorcycle and it works decent, other than it uses phone data.
