Adding FX4

So I get home today from work and the wife says “Why don’t you change it to FX4, it has nicer rims.” Then she goes on to say how she knows it adds skid plates and you loose sport mode…..somebody has been secretly looking at MTC. Long story short, I am sitting across from my salesman now.

He said that the manager told him that priority code changes would only put it in front of other vehicles already coming to this dealership and they keep it at 19 for all vehicles ordered so they don’t give any preferential treatment….

I ordered in October and was priority 10 from the start. From reading this forum I don't think it makes much of a difference though. Good choice on the FX4 addition!

Only wish we had a better choice of tire with the FX4 package! The Wilde Peaks would have been better.

We have the tow package and went back and forth on FX4. Turns out the FX4 gives you monotube shocks, Skidplates, tires, rims. Both Tow package and FX4 gives you enhanced Radiator and Fan. Tow gets you the transmission cooler, 7 pin connector, hitch. FX4 gets you a lower gear ratio, Tow gets you the lowest at 3.8:1 if I recall. Some overlap be nice if ford adjusted, but both packages actually give you a lot.

We don’t do a lot of off-road but big believer in skidplate protection for oil pan, charcoal canister - good for on and off-road protection. The shocks by all accounts are a lot nicer without making ride too harsh. I prefer the dark color rims vs. silver, but at some point I’ll likely put some nicer gunmetal ones on.

Truck is my wife’s daily also, just like the Ridgeline. Funny we bought a Mini JCW for her but she likes the truck. I did a few things to the mini and enjoy riding that around. She also picked out the FX4 package, I added Tow for our flats boat. This truck will be just about perfect for us. Enjoy!

Yeah you have to get the other rims and the fx4 rims are better. If I didn't like the rims I may not have bothered.

I got the fx4 and with my original color choice of Alto blue i upgraded the wheels to remove the black wheels. Alto blue with the upgraded wheel looks great, I have since switched to area 51 and may drop back down to stock fx4 black wheels..... May just leave upgraded wheels and if I want change the wheels or get them powder coated black...
