I have Lariat and single press of the start button puts the truck into full on accessory mode with headlights (auto on always).
In other brands like Lexus there is two stage accessory mode (2 presses to turn on partial and then to full accessory).

Is this just the way Ford vehicles are?
Is there any way to disable the headlight switch from automatically reverting back to auto mode after each key/button cycle?

Hmmm, is the Lariat different than the XLT? The headlight switch is a rotary knob so how is the vehicle changing the headlight setting without moving the knob?

I am wondering if you are seeing the same thing I am, that the Auto High Beam setting is turning ON every time I cycle the ignition. The indicator for this in the dash is a little headlight icon with an "A" next to it.

Sorry for late reply. Both lariat and xlt have the rotary knob but it resets to auto headlights function.
It's as if Ford assumes that their average driver is too incompetent to turn on headlights when condition warrant it.

As for the auto highbeam that can be turned off in the driver multifunction display that you toggle with steering wheel button.

Yes this is driving me nuts. I hate it auto switching the high beams on all the time. I can manually put it in the non auto position but it reverts back on every start. Went into the setting menu and turned off the auto high beams.
