When I worked for Wurth, we sold tons of ac system cleaner and friggy-fresh oderizer.

Techs sprayed it into the ac drain and put it on recirculate.

Getting our first 90 degree days in the Midwest, and while bringing a friend back from lunch I got into a pretty good tussle about turning the AC off, and the fans on high a few minutes before parking the vehicle for more than 3-4 hours. Maybe once a month during the summer I mist some lysol through the intakes too to kill any bacteria. I don't like breathing bacteria and musty air, and I can sure survive a few minutes without AC.

This fella seemed absolutely incredulous about drying out the system a bit before parking, but I was also amazed that someone was so terrified about going a whole 90 SECONDS without air conditioning before stepping outside, to go right back into a climate controlled building. My god, what can you even say. Am I the grumpy old man now, and am I doing it wrong venting out the AC?
I've heard this, but never did it. I live in Texas, high heat and humidity 6 months out of the year, and never had any issue with not doing it. I do NOT like the heat so every moment I'm in my truck throughout those 6 months, the AC WILL be on. If it starts to stink, I'll worry about that when it happens. So far, it hasn't.

I'm just amazed that enough people are driving their mavericks in the laundry room and shower for humidity to be a concern!

Don't know if you're grumpy, but you're definitely Howard-Hughesian in your fear of A/C germs. No one except you does this, we're all fine. Do you do it in your house?

If you smoke cigarettes in your Maverick I guarandamteeya it will stink.
And,
I don’t know what that Marrywana is but if you bring it over here I’ll drink it !
Yeah that will stink up your Maverick also.

In the central Florida heat and humidity I never had a stinky A/C Ever !
All I ever did was change the filter once a year or when I noticed the air flow was dropping.

Dude would hate me, I never use AC I live in Michigan and while it can get 100°. I grew up in a time where there was air no conditioning, I have always preferred windows down.

Wouldn't say fear, but I do have a mold sensitivity for sure. I use a high end furnace filter, and I think that home ACs naturally dry out more than cars that are more closed system with smaller ducts and more components tucked away in very hard to get to places?
