My friend, I understand your reservations, but please look at it from this perspective. This form provides owners who have had issues a platform to share their pain and I respect that these issues shouldn’t happen in the first place fortunately there are tens of thousands of individuals like you and me who have no problems.

Like other say, just make sure that you have a good roadside service and consider packing a few things like blankets, warm clothes, water, meals that can be eaten cold (MREs, not junk food), can-opener, fire extinguisher, flare gun, water purification tablets, compass, sextant, Geiger counter, foldable shovel, Ronco pocket fisherman, Swiss army knife, tow rope, night vision googles, Kevlar vests, life jackets, land shark cage, fire blanket, Pulaski tool, cloaking device, and pattern enhancers...

And you'll be fine!

The bad crankshaft issue affects roughly 300 vehicles between all models using the 2.5 Hybrid. - That's not out of just Mavericks, that's 300 or so out from the Maverick, Escape, and Lincoln Corsair Hybrid & PHEV models. (Many thousands produced). It's a low percentage, and most will exhibit the problem well before your 23k miles.)

I believe Ford said in the maverick it's 0.12 out of 1,000 vehicles impacted by this. So let's round that up to 2 vehicles out of 10,000 and 12 vehicles out of 100,000. Which makes sense seeing as you said it's only 300 engines out of multiple popular models.
