Now when I'm watching to make sure the semi truck to the right of me stays in it's own lane and I don't see whatever was laying on the left edge of my lane at night I shouldn't have to replace my charcoal canister again...or the HV Battery or fuel tank should something wapBANG! the underside of my truck in a different spot.

On Halloween night, my Ford Maverick will roll out of the driveway wearing a costume of its own. Orange lights will glow around its grille, cardboard bat wings will flutter from its mirrors, and a plastic skeleton will ride proudly in the bed. As the moon rises above the rooftops, the Maverick’s headlights will shine like curious eyes, and its tires will crunch through fallen leaves as though it is sneaking into a haunted forest instead of cruising down an ordinary neighborhood street.

At the first corner, the Maverick will discover that the jack-o’-lanterns are not just decorations. Tiny pumpkin spirits will blink awake inside them and will ask for a ride to the Great Midnight Bonfire. The Maverick will lower its tailgate like a drawbridge, and dozens of glowing pumpkins will hop aboard, laughing and rolling into place. Then the little truck will carry them past foggy lawns, inflatable ghosts, and witches who will wave from bicycles made of broomsticks.

Soon, the Maverick will chase a runaway cloud of candy corn that will escape from a wizard’s trick-or-treat bag. It will zip around corners, splash through silver puddles, and follow the candy trail to an old covered bridge, where a friendly headless horseman will be trying to fix a flat tire on his ghostly carriage. The Maverick will lend him a tow strap, a flashlight, and a few pumpkin passengers for encouragement, and the horseman will reward it with a magical hood ornament shaped like a black cat.

By midnight, my Maverick will arrive at the bonfire on a hill where monsters, fairies, scarecrows, and children will dance beneath a sky full of bats. The pumpkin spirits will glow brighter, the skeleton in the truck bed will play the spoons, and the radio will somehow tune itself to a station that will play only spooky surf music. When the night finally ends, the little truck will drive home with candy wrappers in the cupholders, glitter on the dashboard, and the proud feeling that it will have become the bravest little Halloween hauler in town.
