I store my Street Glide in a heated garage in Vermont each winter. I've towed 200 miles with the U-Haul 4x9 motorcycle hauler and got 23mpg in my 23 hybrid. That trailer is unnecessarily heavy but safe. This year, I bought some ramps, fitted a sheet of 3/4-inch plywood, tailgate supports, and...
It has to be the 12v battery. The high voltage battery starts the engine, but it needs the 12v to power the systems. I’m not surprised the dealer cannot figure it out. If you mentioned you were thinking of trading it in or selling it back, they are happier taking the truck back and then fixing it.
A week ago, I hauled my Harley Street Glide from the summer house storage, 220 miles south. It weighs 880 lbs. I added 3/4 pressure-treated plywood extending over the tailgate to distribute the load, along with some tailgate support straps. The sag was not terrible, and the ride was fine and...
I used a set of old Ford Edge rims with 245/55/19's on them, and they run great. The sidewalls are the same as the original 18's that came with the black appearance package. I run dirt roads in Vermont and Boston potholes and have not bent one yet. I recommend a 245/55 or 235/55 tire rather...
Hauled my Harley Street Glide home this weekend. 220 miles and it handled it like a champ. I was also able to carry the folding loading ramp in the back seat.
I agree that the luxury package with the heated steering wheel and seats is well worth it. As far as what to look out for buying used: The warranty is 3 years/36,000 miles. Make sure all the recalls were done. Get under the truck, check the front end, and wear items like bushings and cv joints...
Split rear seat, so I don't have to take everything out to open it.
Drive mode button on the steering wheel, so I don't have to reach down and fumble around.
Fog light option, like on my '92 Explorer.
Power sliding rear window option on all trims, c'mon Ford.
I don't need the Hybrid AWD...
