I'm building a teardrop trailer, and I'd like to be able to charge the battery while I'm driving. If I added a 7-pin and just ran it with the four wires for lights, would adding power from the flexbed pigtails to the power pin be enough, or should I run a new wire from the battery with a fuse? Doesn't need to do anything more than charge the battery or keep it charged so I can have a full battery and run on solar for a week or so.

Would like to know if something like this has been done, the search didn't bring anything up for me.

12 volt from pigtail runs my compressor very slow and useless. 12 volt at dash works well. Too far a run and a dinky little half assed wire to the back. Cost savings for Ford. Good advertising and bad performance.
