I haven't posted in a while. My 2022 Maverick XL now has 58,000 miles on it. The truck has been great basic transportation...it rides great and is quiet. It's our preferred vehicle for trips. But...several things have soured me on it. Shortly after I bought it, a rattle behind the instrument cluster appeared and is still there. I took it to the dealer, they kept it for about 8 days. It was rattle free for a few days after picking it up, then the rattle returned. They told me they used double sided tape to fix the problem. I traded in a VW Tiguan that had 130,000 miles on it and it had no rattles. I received a recall notice about half axles this week...this is the 4th or 5th recall notice I've gotten on the truck. For contrast, I had one recall on the Tiguan and that was for rubber gaskets around the hood.

Occasionally, the audio system looses its mind and goes silent. I makes a star wars sound as I turn up the volume. No radio or Android Auto audio will play until I turn off the truck and leave it for a bit. Somehow something resets and it works the next time. I've not figured out what causes this. It's a aggravation.

I honestly wish I'd have spent the extra money and bought the Toyota. Just my humble opinion. I'll probably trade it in when I pay it off.

I assume you have had all the recalls done up to now, especially the one about the back up view. It will usually fix that radio problem. Otherwise just do a radio reset by holding the "on" and "seek" buttons for up to 10 seconds.

Yeah spend more on the Toyota and watch your engine grenade, frame rot and split in half, and a boatload of other recalls…

EDIT: Why wait until you pay it off? Surely you can’t still be underwater on it after 3 years. You’ll probably get 85% of the value out of it and it will give you a nice down payment on a $50k Tacoma.

Just Curious...
Are/Where these things you mentioned your Only Problems??
I have not experienced any of these.... And have yet to do the recalls. (Camera has acted up twice, in three years).
If that is it "I" guess I have done pretty Good!

I'm the guy you cut off in 2022 and every once in a while I stop at your house and drop a coke can pull tab in your air intake.

Good for you. Apparently I have a Maverick that might have been made on a Friday. My truck hasn't been so faultless.

Yes...I've had all the recalls done including the backup camera. Still get the radio problem from time to time.

Drove my 2024 AWD Lariat Ecoboost home on 12/31/24.

11,500 miles now, zero problems, never even seen a low battery notice.
Not one single recall. I assume they all got done before I got it. I had Ford look it up before I took it home. Boards clear.

But this month I got a Noco Genius 1 and have de-sulfated my factory AGM battery. This improved my 24 hour at rest VDC some.

I will admit these over complicated over engineered modern vehicles are vampires and suck the life out of batteries pretty fast.
Matters little, I consider a battery a consumable like brakes and tires.

All the stupidity like auto stop/start and the oh so stupid seat belt beeps and screens I do not like.
But with a perfectly performing vehicle I can look past that bullshit.
Im happy as a pig in shit.

I'm going to sympathize with all that crap that you have gone through with that vehicle. Hopefully made it through the issues and have clear sailing now.

Can happen from any manufacturer.
