I haven't posted in a while. My 2022 Maverick XL now has 58,000 miles on it. The truck has been great basic transportation...it rides great and is quiet. It's our preferred vehicle for trips. But...several things have soured me on it. Shortly after I bought it, a rattle behind the instrument cluster appeared and is still there. I took it to the dealer, they kept it for about 8 days. It was rattle free for a few days after picking it up, then the rattle returned. They told me they used double sided tape to fix the problem. I traded in a VW Tiguan that had 130,000 miles on it and it had no rattles. I received a recall notice about half axles this week...this is the 4th or 5th recall notice I've gotten on the truck. For contrast, I had one recall on the Tiguan and that was for rubber gaskets around the hood.
Occasionally, the audio system looses its mind and goes silent. I makes a star wars sound as I turn up the volume. No radio or Android Auto audio will play until I turn off the truck and leave it for a bit. Somehow something resets and it works the next time. I've not figured out what causes this. It's a aggravation.
I honestly wish I'd have spent the extra money and bought the Toyota. Just my humble opinion. I'll probably trade it in when I pay it off.
