I have an FX4 with the 4-pin trailer connector and would like to add a 7-pin. I am looking at several 4-7-pin adapters. Does anyone know if the Fx4 comes with the 7-pin harness to enable a direct connection or must I run the power up to the fuse box directly? I would love to be able to connect everything at the back end if possible.

I'm a Ford parts guy, get me the last 8 characters of your vin and I should be able to find out. I can't sort in catalog by FX4 package. But with no vin i see 9U5Z14489MAA 7 and 4 pin trailer connector showing up, if I can figure which harness you have I should be able to tell if you can go with that part#.

I tried using a 4-7 adapter and it didn't work for me. I took my trailer to a Hitch House and they swapped it my Trailers 7 pin to a 4 pin. they said it was a safety thing that had to do with brakes and trying to bypass???
