Nice! I drew up a FITS mount for my battery charger after this. Too many projects, too little time.

25% infill, run out of 95A, 100% would probably be great for 85A, I didn't have the right color though. I'm running the following filament:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...3dch0117505_cheetah_tpu_industrial_grade.html
Just pulled them off the printer. I ran mine at 60% infill. They still have a decent flex, but feel sturdy enough stay in place. I only had grey in TPU. I will check fit soon. Thanks again for the remix. I may try to throw in a Maverick Logo cutout in another remix. 👍🏻

Well stated @mfergel, there are so many people that resell others work as if it were created by them. It is very frustrating when I look on sites like Etsy, and see designs that are being sold that were built by others. The 3D printing community, in the beginning, was a great collaboration of tinkerers who would not do this. I think that printers have become so mainstream (not saying that is a bad thing) that people are often looking for ways to make a quick buck. I have never sold anything that I have printed, even my own designs, because I enjoy the process and the creative space that it allows. Not to say that I wouldn't take a filament donation, but I have never taken any $$$ and would never for someone else's design. The photo that I posted at the very beginning of this thread, I have seen being reused on FB posts trying to sell this design too. I make comments saying "hey that is my picture of my truck" and try to steer comment to the file creator on Thingiverse, but they just pull the post and repost again a couple of days later.
The Creative Commons license that the 2 piece design falls under allows commercial distribution, but also requires attribution. The member that designed the 2 piece is @JB9 he was the one that originally posted that design and linked it to Thingiverse.
I only sell 3D printed stuff that I design. I used to do custom designs, but then people started asking me to give them the design files for free after I spent hours designing because they didn’t want to pay me for the final product (and design time). It is a fun hobby, but I enjoy being paid for my efforts.

I didn't mean the products that you are selling @RichardCranium . You made modifications to the original file and have spent time R&D time as well as material print time on this. And you are not out to make a fortune on these. I appreciate that you are able to supply a product that many people want on the forum. I am speaking of folks that are downloading someone else file, printing, and reselling them as their own. This happens often on sites like Etsy. I think your design is awesome and comes in handy. Sorry if I wasn't clear in the original post. Keep up the good work. 👍🏻

The single piece STL files are not available. Only the 2 piece files (designed by @JB9 ) are. That is because people like to take designs they find online and pass them off as their own and try to make a buck of them for doing nothing. I don’t remember what thread, but there have been 2 people that have tried to start selling the 2 piece design for a profit on MTC that did not design it. I have a huge problem with that and that is why I don’t make my design files available. @P99Guy and I worked together on this design and he has graciously agreed to my request to not post the design file. This has also made it difficult for him because I don’t have the ability to test my print settings (My maverick is still in order and I know of only one other Maverick in existence and he has a plate) and so he is currently the sole producer of that design.

If you choose to print the 2 piece (designed by @JB9 ), I would recommend PETG. ABS is a bit rigid, but may be OK with the thin walls that it has. PLA is very brittle and does not hold up to heat or outdoor elements. Some have had success with PLA for the 2 piece covers, but I don’t know how long they will last. If you have your own printer and can print replacements, then that is always an option.
Finally, @acapaldi redesigned the 2 piece file for use with TPU.

His post is about half way down the page and he has a link to his file there.
Thanks for the response and I totally understand/agree. I'll probably order the PETG then (as I think I'll be able to use the rest of the roll more quickly).

Nice print! That's a clean first layer! I've uploaded a .stp file to Printables, for easy remixing, a .f3d file is also out there.

You were perfectly clear. I was just expanding upon my opinion. I did not feel you were criticizing me at all.
I think I was probably unclear in my post. I wish I could share files I design and people wouldn’t take advantage of them. I love designing.
There was a need in the forum, and I threw my idea out there and people liked it. @P99Guy reached out to see if I had worked on it. I hadn’t because I don’t have my truck yet and he offered to work with me on it. I usually don’t take partners, but this has been a blast. We had our first 1 piece prototype before @JB9 posted the 2 piece.

For those watching with popcorn in hand.
This is when I reached out to Richard for his original design. This IS the Original File.

This is just a small sample of the designs and design changes we made while attempting to get it just right - or as right as I can get it anyway. Richards design is fabulous. I printed covers in every possible material with almost every nozzle temp and bed temp to create a printable strong tab structure.
So what you see today was a lot of effort, but a lot of fun and we are providing something we can be proud of to the Maverick Community. (My wife is glad I am not snapping covers on and off her truck 50 times a day too.)
I would be happy now to see what else the community can come up with.

Wow. That's a lot of test prints. I think when I do printing, I probably waste more resin/filiment than I actually use on end products.

Cool that you guys can do these type of things for the mavericks. If I planned on hauling dirt or rocks I would buy a set. My Maverick won't be abused like a truck should. It's purpose is to haul my tools in the back and drive to jobsites. And get groceries and running around on the weekends. Myself, wife and daughter all drive it. I have a truck for truck stuff already :ROFLMAO:
