Yeah my only problem with thingiverse is someone is going to take them and start selling them on Etsy or eBay. I think someone posted an SVG on reddit.

While I wait for my letters to arrive from AliX, I tried to convert the online image into a printable STL. It worked pretty ok - some refinement needed but I couldn't find any thing available online. I don't have any red 3M tape laying around so I had to use some generic doubleside tape that doesn't really stick to the waxed letters. I might play around with them a little more to put them on the front hood kind of like the Ford Explorer letters.

If anyone wants the STL or SVG let me know (as long as you're not planning to sell them)

Not an expert; but for anyone printing I'd check the temperature tolerance(s) of the filament. Worst case is probably warping / discoloring though not damage to the vehicle.

Definitely print using PETG or ABS. If using it for the truck. ABS has better UV resistance and can be vapor smoothed but PETG is easier to print.

I haven't received mine yet but I'd assume the red 3M tape like they use for the Mabett fenders and hood deflectors should be sufficient

The red 3M is More than sufficient for tailgate letters. If the letters fall off with 3M tape. Either the surface of the truck or surface of the letters wasn't prepared properly. Possibly the surface of the 3D printed product is not smooth enough for the 3M tape.

I printed a new set just to double-check the fit with double-sided tape. There's some more work that can be done to perfect them - but good enough until my AliX order comes in. I'll post the STLs files on thingiverse tomorrow with the non commercial share alike license for anyone that wants it. I just can't stand people charging $20+ for a simple vinyl print out or abs mold.

The acc is mounted Center position in the lower Grill just below where the license plate is mounted if you have one. You can see it in this picture.

These look great. I'm a little chuffed I opted for the vinyl lettering instead of something raised like these so I you have the STL to send my way I'd be interested in considering it. Or if you do end up posting it on Thingiverse shoot me the link/post it here.
