2nd time transmission went out!!!!

First transmission was replaced at 17k miles, now at 69000k miles its out again. Left us stranded 2.5 hrs from home. Had to call tow truck foe 680.00 to tow back to town. Lost $700 in wages!. Not happy. March 10th had airbag recall down, about 5 days ago instrument cluster middle went black. Called to make appointment for oil change and check out instrument cluster. Went in yesterday for that. They said cluster on back order till who knows when. Picked it up last night. This morning after about 2 hours of driving transmission went out. This is not proving to be a reliable truck. We travel a lot of miles, mostly highway miles, we need something more reliable. I think there has to be more wrong with our truck, causing this. IDK think we got the lemon.

I'm not sure, the husband was driving it this time. He did say the tyranny slipped and just was done shortly after and he smelled fluid. The first time it went out at 17 k was similar to what you said. Then finally threw a code. They first said replacing the brain then said nope replacing tyranny. He would not know if it threw any codes this time because the instrument cluster info part is out.
