"25 Hybrid Lariat and Forscan

I have a '25 Hybrid Lariat and wish to use Forscan to make some adjustments to settings. I have an older Dell Laptop running Windows 11 Pro and tried this OBD adapter:
Vgate vLinker FS OBD2 USB Adapter for FORScan HS/MS-CAN Auto Switch
Could not make it connect to my truck. Read online about several people having trouble getting that adapter to work with their vehicle. I would still like to try Forscan so I am asking anyone that has the same year truck what OBD connector worked well for them. Hopefully one that didn't require lots of fiddling to make work.

Anything special you had to do or did it connect right out of the box with the Forscan software?

I have the same '25 Lariat as you. I have the same connector and same results as nbmav. I use a very underwhelming gateway laptop and it works fine.

Forgot to mention. The laptop I used for it was a used $100 Dell Lattitude I picked up at an electronics recycling place in my area. They actually wanted a little more but I offered $100 and they took it.

I got the adapter recommended here and just as was stated it connected on the first try and I was elated.
Next question for those nice enough to give me the straight skinny....Was there a recommended video or written tutorial that you used to start making changes? I feel like I am already more than half way there.

I can't remember which youtube videos I watched to learn how to do it but there are quite a few out there that all show basically the same thing. You use those to learn the mechanics of how forescan works and then use the big Maverick specific spreadsheet of the features that others have posted to figure out which values to modify. Some of the stuff is pretty cryptic but I wanted to delete the annoying seatbelt reminder popup and found some posts on this forum on how to do that.
