I just got a call from my dealer saying my 23 Maverick is ready for pickup! I ordered 2 trucks (hybrid and EB) in the exact same specs except different engine. I asked which one got delivered and he said he would check and call me back tomorrow. The thing is I just got an email from Ford last week saying the order is delayed, and they will update me every 45 days. I didn't think Ford was building 23 models yet. Do you think the dealer actually has the truck or that they are mistaken?

They're mistaken. MY23 Mavericks production hasn't even begun yet, and it'll easily be weeks before the first units are delivered to dealers. Plus the first week or so of production is stock units as they dial things in, generally.

I called the dealership today to follow up, and it was a mix-up with the order number for some that had a MY22 that was delivered, and my order number. Now I just slightly concerned with what that means for my orders.

That's worse than being invited to a birthday party & getting there to find out there is no cake!

Order numbers are not unique. They can be and are reused. I think my salesman used the same order number for all his customers, so on the screen he could sort out 'his' orders. So they could easily have made a mistake when the truck came in.
Reusable order numbers has to be one of the dumbest things I have seen with Ford. And that is a long list.
