Yep. The orange accents in the XLT put me off in the research process, and the faux blue/brown leather seats in the Lariat were a big nope as well. I like function over anything else, so the XL worked best for me. No regrets there. Not having scratching issues with the plastic, either, probably because my rat terrier is typically pretty subdued in the Maverick and isn't scratching up the interior. I guess my only complaint is having a dog who isn't keen on car rides. Anyone else have a dog like this?
Funny you should mention Rat Terriers and issues with the Maverick.
My Rat Terrier, 'Bertie', is actually a big part of the reason I now have my Maverick.
Bertie goes to our local DogPark 2x each day...rain, sleet, blizzard, or sunshine, doesn't matter. She must see her friends.
At 8-yrs of age(and granted, a bit rubenesque) she's well beyond the "hyperactive stage".
But she has always preferred riding in my lap during the drive. Hence the Maverick issue:
the oddly, "interrupted design" of the ArmRests mean that she has no place to rest her paws when windsurfing the open window. I was forced to gerry-rig the armrest with a WheelChair armrest pad in order to fill that crazy gap in the Mav's armrest design.
Bertie is happy with this admittedly inelegant solution.

BTW, I previously had a perfectly fine 2019 VW Alltrack. Had to get rid of it because of the Dog's automobile-ride preference of riding in my lap. The VW had a 6-speed stick...Bertie found all that clutch-work unsettling. Refused to even get into that car.
True story.

Rat Terriers won't do anything they don't want to.

I can't believe people here hate the blue, but say nothing about all the cheap, plastic-toy looking gaudy XLT interior. I can't believe any self-respecting adult would drive around with that all day. It's embarrassing, and was the main reason I went for a Lariat.

Couldn't imagine picking a date up in that Tonka-toy looking interior.

I saw a thread where some guy went in and added MORE of that crap to the interior. like WTF?? You don't have to mod shit just to mod it.
Since you are the arbiter of style and substance, perhaps you might consider a Yugo, or even a Prius to go with your taste, rather than a Maverick. I personally think the look is just fine for a low-price pickup. Do you compliment your wife so elegantly when you go out:?

So my '23 blacked out mav arrived saturday. Never got to even get in one before then. So why is my "all black" mav outfitted with some gross blueish ugly interior? Is that all they offer? I mean it looks horrible inside :(
That’s it, bud. You can check out the interior on the ford website when building your vehicle.
I chose the XL to avoid the white and orange trims and the silver vs black strip in the grille.
Your bap is still pretty slick though, no? I love those headlights

damn, butthurt much?

and the XL is even cheaper and doesn't look like a 16 year old’s wet dream, so not sure what the price has to do with it.

Solid, bright plastic orange pieces all over a brand new vehicle is tacky no matter how “elegant” you want to pretend to be, I’m sorry. Also, i “attacked” an inanimate object, you’re attacking me personally, so I guess you’re no better, are you?

Here's my little monster, Darcy. Hates traveling and most people, but she truly adores my grandson and that's all that matters. Smartest dog I've ever owned and an exceptional watch dog.

...a real cutie-pie, very similar coloring as my Bertie.
Out of curiosity, what are Darcy's age and weight?

Hands-down, the best, most well-rounded breed; extremely intelligent, affectionate, and loyal.
Of course, have to deduct one point for that pesky willfulness trait!

Darcy will be turning 3 in October. She was likewise a bit Rubenesque in this photo and has since slimmed down to 18 pounds of solid muscle. She was pushing the 20lb mark here. Her mama was around 16lbs.

Without a doubt, the best dog I've ever owned. From day one of bringing her home, her big interest was fetching. Didn't want to learn sit, down, etc. She was ALL about the fetching. Took her to obedience classes and she found the class to be distracting, but if I worked with her at home she was an entirely different dog. I have her trained by voice and hand signals. Highly food motivated but turns into a PERFORMER if she knows we're going to play ball, tug of war, etc. Huge prey drive, too, which she burns by wrestling with the cat, who is a worthy opponent.

Would love to get another Rattie, but I'm not sure she'd be so accepting. She's all about her mama. (Me!) She tolerates my husband, but she's my dog.

Gotta say this about Rat Terriers...since bringing one home, I have NOT stopped laughing. They are a breed with a sense of humor and, unlike a Jack Russell, have an OFF switch. ;)

2022 Maverick XL Hybrid $19,995.00. Initial offering

Hard to get below that new

Since I'm old I can't remember if it was the Ford Maverick (car) or Pinto.

Billboard and newspaper offerings $1995.00
Maverick was $1,995 in 1970. Pinto was $1,919 for 1971. I'm a wealth of mostly useless trivia.

For under $25, I found this a good way to tone down and distribute the orange. 19 piece set total
