Putting this thread out to see if anyone else’s order has been placed on STOPSHIP. Does anyone know why? I’ve contacted Ford and the dealer and dealer tells me they don’t know why nor can they see it, I need to talk to Ford, and Ford says I need to talk to the dealer.

looking for help an answers because now I’m starting to get irritated that it’s been in shipping for over a month

Kinda, but do it too much or for too long and they will have people upset with their orders and some may end up not following through on their purchase

I doubt you'll be able to get an answer..... I work at a Ford dealership. Whenever we've had vehicles held at the plant, we've never been able to get answers as to why. Sometimes you can get a hint based on information in VINView, but usually we are kept in the dark about it.

That’s the issue. It’s not at the plant. It’s at a port in my home state about 1-2 hrs away from the dealer. I don’t understand why you put something on STOPSHIP like that.
I understand holding and doing QC at the plant and other things but this one just doesn’t make much sense

We had one (not a Maverick) stuck at ramp like that before as well. No one would tell us anything. No one from Ford could give us any information. One of the transport drivers did give us a hint. There was some minor damage to one of the doors. From the train most likely. Basically, it needed to be repaired before it was sent to us. There seems to have been an "argument" over who was responsible (train or yard)... which seems to have contributed to the delay.

We've also had vehicles delayed at the ramp due to dead 12V batteries. They just set them off to the side and deal with them later.

Of course, I don't know anything, but my suspicion is some sort of transportation damage is causing the delay. Perhaps a dead battery or check engine light could cause a delay there too?

Thanks I appreciate it but I hope that’s not the case. I hope it’s just a matter of scheduling carriers or something

I hope so too!

I can only confirm that it can be very difficult for dealerships to get information in cases like this.
