I purchased a Maverick Lariat ordered through my dealer. When it showed up without the backup assist, with the paperwork that showed it should have back up assist and did not, the dealer was baffled and looked into it. Eventually he explained the Job 1 - Job 2 thing. I explained I ordered and have paperwork for a Maverick with back up assist in the Equipment group. The fact that Ford didn’t warn you is not my problem or even the dealer’s problem, it is Ford’s problem. Ford even gave me a receipt with it listed in the order. The dealer is making it right. I love my dealer.

Your dealer was made aware of job #1 and job #2 availability of the pro trailer and back up features.

Whether they were ignorant to the information or failed to inform you, I'm glad they are making it right for you as this was communicated by Ford from the very start. Ford does some odd things with their rollouts but again, well known.

Your dealer is to blame. Ford communicated clearly to dealers Job 1 and Job 2 equipment.

Ordered new Maverick Lariat in November-it was built last week of January and I picked up at my dealer later part of February-back up sensors as well as all other options were in place-the Job 1 Job 2 thing is crazy -and in your case frustrating

Your post makes zero sense.

back up sensors were on all lariat models.

Do you have the pro trailer features or not? If you don’t you have a job 1 lariat. If you do you have a job 2 lariat.

Ford did not mess this up. No job 1s have the feature. All job 2s do have the feature.

That’s it. That’s how it is.

Hi,

I'll be getting my XLT hybrid AWD lux package with 4k next week or so.

How do I know if I have a job 1,2,3...?
Should I be getting the back up sensors as well even if I don't have a lariat?

Cheers

Clearly, you've never worked at a Ford dealership.
My Lariat is a job 1 unit and has back up sensors, even though rare in the last 20 years, there are still misbuilt units that do slip thru the cracks.

This isn't about backup sensors, Job 1 trucks have those

It's about the Job 2 Pro Trailer hitch assist & backup assist features that replace the volume knob below the screen on the left hand side

WTF is job 1 job 2 or 3 anyways ?

Another reason I will never special order.

My 2024 Eco AWD Lariat got a full inspection on the showroom floor by me before I test drove it.

it never has had a single recall past present or future and none were showing pending a fix or update. All stated features per the window sticker were in place and functional. No camera recall.

I got a fully assembled, correctly assembled Maverick.
It even came with a FoMoCo AGM battery.

Summer fuel formulas must be out, And or it’s breaking in with 3,000 miles on the clock now.

Average mpg’s in these Appalachian Mountains is up to 28 and I don’t drive like grandma going to church either.

Considering how many Mavericks are being sold and how few people have problems in this forum I think Ford is doing better.

You can special order a vehicle and still do the inspection on the showroom floor before you test drive it.

Your Maverick had a job associated with it as well.
