Hey all - hope to pick up my 25 Lariat hybrid AWD next month.

I see the window sticker online, but it does not include any details on the terms of any connectivity other than including 3 months of WiFi hotspot (which I couldn't care less about).

I would like to know what access is included that's not any additional charge. Does the Ford Pass app have full access included or is there an up-charge? Are there some features that are only included for a limited time? I think the car also includes satelitte radio for some months? What about on-line navigation and map updates?

None of this is a show stopper as I plan on having my iPhone with me using WAZE for nav and Amazon Music and/or USB drive for tunes, but would like to know what the connectivity options are (and wonder why I can't find them listed anywhere).

I had a GM car and the car included FULL app access/control for 3 years - then GM limits the functions unless you pay a monthly fee (we sold the car before 3 years was up but I had no intention of paying a car company any monthly fee).

Thanks!

Any idea what Premium Connectivity is and how it compares to crappy Connectivity? Also no way I would Bu it but curious how much Ford wants to pick your pocket for it.

I appreciate you posting that'

Okay - it looks like the Ford Pass app will still be useful even after 12 months. I'm assuming I'll be able to remote start / lock / unlock remotely via the app without any subscription service? I think that is what I am reading.

thx

Ford hasn't gone to the subscription model, yet.

Yes that’s how I am understanding it - I will look at this in more detail when I get closer to any of the expiration dates

They're partway there, though.

Bluecruise is $80/month! So a multiple of the cost of the competition, at a fraction of the capability.

I just picked up my XLT. According to my Ford Pass app premium connectivity is good for a year. Alexa for 3 years. Not sure about XM radio but I think part of the 1 year. Site says you can use Ford Points to pay for renewing Premium connectivity. I think once it expires you will have to USB plug in your phone to get all the integration and XM will expire. I don't plan to use the Ford navigation or maps anyway. Renewal is $10/month.

Is there something like GM's on-star where there's button to call for support/assistance? I think I read that there's a feature to auto-dial 911 on your personal phone should there be an accident? If so, I wonder if that's only available with a subscription or if it's included standard. 911 connectivity is worth exploring I guess.

Once again don't think I'll want or need any of the Ford premium connectivity features as my phone already does everything anyway, with the added benefit that all my settings, music, contacts I carry with me and are the same regardless of what vehicle I am in. I don't see any advantage to the consumer to have to set up connectivity databases in every car and system and pay for something that's already part of their cell phone plan.

The only good thing is for the manufacturer that might find someone rare poor soul to pay them that sweet, sweet recurring revenue stream... maybe someone who doesn't take a own a phone or take it with them when they drive?

Yes, there is a 911 setting on the car to call in case of a crash. If you try to turn off anything with the connectivity it warns you that it will lose connection with your phone. I left most of the setting enabled except report vehicle data to insurance company.

After looking into this I have not enabled the Alexa or the WIFI Hotspot. My android phone integrates seamlessly with unlimited data and does everything I want it to do. I don't see any reason to enable the Ford WIFI hotspot. I don't use Alexa at all. I guess the only thing I am getting from the free trial is XM radio, which I like on road trips, and sometimes around town.

Hi Dave O

Today i just got an email from Ford letting me know my Connectivity expires 1/22/2026. You will probably get your email tomorrow or next tuesday.

have you thought about renewing next month?
i went to the Ford FAQ and it looks like Navigation is $80 per year and without it...

"2025 vehicles with Connected Navigation
Reverts to a "moving map" with no destination routing functionality if Connected Navigation is not renewed after the trial ends. "

i kinda like the map, i might keep Navigation.

the premium connectivity FAQ shows one time $745 for 7 years. i am going to vote no.

Remember, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will also give you maps with Navigation and no fee to Ford for that. Yet.
