Hello ,
Newb here, I was fortunate to nab a 2024 AWD XL, unfortunately it came without the tow package. Can anyone answer, if I add a hitch/receiver will I still have the 4k towing capacity? If so any suggestions on an aftermarket Trailer e brake? I am fine with the 4K capacity, Do I need to upgrade the radiator, trans cooler or intercooler since I do not have the factory package? understanding that I can not increase it to anything over 4K rating, just wondering, if when getting the tow package does the factory build come with a higher capacity radiator or amped transmission cooler?

You could do that for a few thousands but it will not change the factory rating.

No it would be cost prohibited. Read what you get with the 4k tow package from the factory. Basically a different gear ratio, high capacity radiator, upgraded fan, and trans cooler, brake controller, 7 pin and 4 pin wiring and a trailer hitch. Lot of these threads or same questions/posts if you do a search. Your almost better to see what it would cost to trade your truck in. The biggest question is if you were needing to tow up to 4000lbs why did you buy one without the 4k tow package?

You can only tow 2000lbs but still welcome to MTC. Congratulations with your new Maverick.

This is an excellent response.

@Stevenkcallaway
The short answer is "no." Ford designed several components to work together, allowing people to tow 4K pounds safely. You cannot, for example, just add the tow hitch and 4-pin wiring. You must ensure it has a trailer brake controller and a 7-pin connector. The brakes on the Maverick are not good enough alone and without assistance from the trailer's brakes.

The 4K tow package also includes additional cooling for the transmission and engine due to the extra load and strain from towing a 4K lbs. trailer.

As @Hunters Edge suggests, if you need a tow package, consider trading in or selling your XL AWD for a Maverick with the 4K package. Alternatively, consider getting a Ranger or F-150. Due to the upcoming release of the next generation of Ford Ranger, many used and certified Rangers are starting to show up on lots.

Hope you are happy with whatever choice you make.

Agree with the responses. You're kind of stuck with the 2K.
