Hello MTC!

Long time lurker. I followed Maverick news and reviews most of last year, finally decided it is the truck for me in January after '22 orders closed. Now that the '23 MY order start date is known, I was hoping to get some advice on how to get in line as early as possible. Wait until day of and go through Ford website? Reach out to local dealer before the order date?

I am also on the fence about dealer to use. I have a small local dealer close to me, but also a few larger dealers in the city not too far away. Generally I would prefer the small dealer but most stories I've read here indicate large dealer is faster.

Appreciate any recommendations! Hoping to have my XLT hybrid in about a year...

Find a large dealer you trust locally that gets a lot of allocations is your best option. I chose a small dealership last summer and still remain unscheduled with a July order. Ford Allocation runs the roost... Definitely not first order in, first order out. Choose wisely my friend

I went to my local dealer A decent size they called me and let me put a pre-order in and told me that since I did it that way as soon as the order books open my order goes in immediately he also informed me that he was told by someone in Ford that they expect the ordering to be shut down within a day that's hard to believe but we'll see. I put the pre order in I got the paperwork I gave him a deposit I gave him $200 onto trucks one for me one for my wife. I wouldn't wait till August 16th to try to do it online that's just my opinion

Ok didn't realize pre-orders were possible. Sounds like I should start making some calls soon then. Thanks!

They are not doing pre-orders it's just dealers getting down your information so that they can submit it on day one we don't even know pricing yet for the 23 MY

Allocations aren't *that* big of a thing anymore, but they still seem to have some impact at the regional level due to priority coding. If regional doesn't like a dealership, then that dealership can get a functional allocation cut even if Ford itself is trying to do away with it for Mavericks.

Edit: because Regional is the one that sets a priority code of 2, which is what they use to determine what orders go to the factory for building.
