Have not taken a hit yet, but I have had good luck with Safelite. Came to the house and did the work. Trucks get whacked far more often than sedans/coupes due to the more upright windshield angle. Don’t recall the price, but it seemed fairly reasonable to me.

Some have taken the opportunity to upgrade to the acoustic windshield with good results.

I had to replace my windshield last month. Insurance company directed me to Safelite and I have 0 deductible glass coverage. My cost at time of replacement was zero but the invoice I received showed $900.00 for the replacement job. I do not know if that is what my insurance company paid though. Safelite did an excellent job and the insurance company mandated they use factory Ford replacement.

I paid Satellite $169 for a 1/8" in dia. rock chip which I think was too much. I called another glass shop and talked to a real person and they said $75 for the same repair but I went with Safelite and in hindsight maybe I should of used the other shop. Not overly impressed with the milky appearance of the repair but it does look well done and is just below the rearview mirror so not a vision issue but more of a cosmetic one. The only thing that pissed me off was the technician said the milky appearance would clear up in about a week, it didn't. I hate it when people blow smoke up my ass. My wife still accuses me of being too anal when to come to my vehicles and she is right.

For the OP I don't have a recommended glass shop but suggest you shop around. As noted above my insurance company has suggested Safelite but I wonder if thats not just a contractual thing.

Took a hit in mine last April on the 7th day of ownership. Safelite fixed the chip, only for it to crack across the whole windshield two days later. Geico claim replacement for the entire windshield ($500 deductible) , so that's how much it cost me. I've had some more minor hits to it since and they have left tiny indentations . Truly, my only complaint on the Maverick is HORRIBLE windshield glass ! My '05 FX4 used to get pounded by rocks and it never did anything to it . Maybe once some aftermarket glass comes out , that will be better. As of now, only Ford glass is available.

Things to be aware of. ......
If you have the Co-Pilot Assist ( not sure about just Co-Pilot?) you will have the camera attached to the windshield. Camera can be moved to new windshield, but they will want to charge you to "calibrate" the camera so it works properly.
I am not sure if that is absolutely necessary or not. Or the current cost to do that.
Then there is the "Acoustic" windshield in the Lariat to deal with. Make SURE you get that when replacing a Lariat windshield. Might be worth the upgrade to that in an XL or XLT/
My wife's new BMW X3 ( back in 2018) got a cracked windshield. Has the same camera stuff as the Co-pilot stuff. Only BMW had a windshield available at that time. Cost was $2900 to replace it! I am sure it is less now, but what a surprise.

Got ya beat! My windshield took a rock on the 4th day of ownership. Safe lite could not get a windshield so I went with a local company Who replaced the windshield the following week. My cost was zero and they recalibrated the windshield automatically.

Safelite tech scratched and chipped my paint when replacing. Not only around the windshield but also the passenger rear door. With his foot. I don't know what's going to happen. They're coming back to look at it.... two weeks after it happened.

I joined the cracked windshield club yesterday. No other car was anywhere near me, have no idea where it came from. Hit on the passenger side right where the roof and windshield meet. A 1/4 inch higher and it would have missed the glass!
Appointment Monday, $0 deductible.

Follow up 3/17-I removed the wipers and cowl plastic to make it easier for the glass tech.

The camera is not attached to the windshield. I also have never had to recalibrate the front camera on any car, 3 windshields so far.
