Everything I’ve read says the 12v outlet on the dash is powered by turning the ignition key on, and coversely
powers off when the ignition is switched off. Today, I installed a cheap dash cam that required running the power cord along under the headliner, pillar and under the glove compartment to plug into that 12v socket. Works great. Turned off the engine, locked the doors and went inside. When I came out an hour later, the dash cam was still on! Is the 12v socket on a switch I can set so it’s only powered up when the ignition is on?

Manual doesn't say that, must be some bad sources.
Power ports are set to time out at 75 minutes max.

Until your battery is seen as becoming lower voltage, then it will keep reducing that time, and the time lights stay on. Battery Saver - that's in the manual.

If you haven't scanned all the threads about hybrid battery issues - I mean on page 1 of threads - then you have some reading to do.

Don't worry - that time will automatically be reduced down. To as soon as you open the door it powers off.

Is this 23MY new to you, or had since 23?

For more info on changing that 75 min max, notice the Similar threads section below yours now - many will comment on using Forscan to change that setting.

Thanks. I should have dug out the manual, but I lazily Googled it and the Google Gods got it wrong, I guess. The ‘23 hybrid was new to us, and the ‘22 ecoboost was bought used, but both have had their 12v batteries replaced under Ford warranty. I guess we will have to remember to plug-in and out the dash cam power supply in both vehicles, which is a pain.

You can go into fuze panel passenger floor under glove box and find power that is switched off with key. Some of those are on a separate delay off such as courtesy lights. The ones with the courtesy delay off such as the rear seat 12v power can be set to a short time (20 seconds or more in steering wheel menu settings) OR TURNED OFF IMMEDIATELY WITH DOUBLE PRESSING LOCK ON KEY FOB OR KEYPAD OR DOOR HANDLE RIDGES (if equipped).

I do this all the time. It does turn off the 12V outlets and the 120V inverter

Do indeed test that remote double-lock for the 23MY. May work.
Maybe a Lariat or Lux package with keyless-entry thing.

It does NOT work on the 24MY XLT - nothing changes between single lock press or double lock press - except horn honk if you have it enabled. Power port stays on. (well, until battery is ruined)

Yes the dash power port stays on for the full set time delay even in the keyless lariat. That's why I said you have to find a circuit that has the courtesy delay timer which can turn off early with the double lock. The radio, the dash, the dome light, the exterior courtesy lights (+?) all turn off on double lock. Sorry I did not make that plain.
ETA: Check the rear seat power port it may not stay on like the dash power port, I'm not sure.

Tried the remote double-lock. Did not work. 😞

1. I believe the rear seat outlet is circuited with the driver outlet, so they would power the same.
2. They do NOT drain the battery until depleted, if the truck detects that the battery is low then it will automatically cut out power to the outlets (regardless of the timeout setting).
- I believe something in the ~30-35% state-of-charge range is when it will cut power
- If voltage drops below a certain value, it'll go into a "deep-sleep" state and you'll get a notification. This is typically <15%, but not always since there is a big voltage drop in certain instances (ex: door opening) that can trigger even at higher SoC.
- Battery drain is typically related to either poor BMS programming or the interconnect (Ford app) system.
