Oh, the cost of progress!!! Great upgrade, though!Also, while I solved one problem, I've created another; my retrofitted F150 Fog Lights no longer fit properly(this intercooler is much larger than stock). Not sure yet if I can salvage them, may have to come up with something else for fog lights..
fyi ---were you warned about oversize intercooler's need for a blanking shield in humid climates on the RS? I left mine on in Fl. and had plenty of HP!
Compressing a gas makes it hotter and want to be less dense which fights against the efficiency of the forced induction when you want to push as much oxygen molecules into the cylinders as you can. A larger intercooler has more surface area across which to exchange that heat resulting in cooler, denser air to reach the intake. More air + more fuel = more power.I do not have a clue on what or why. Can someone help me out?
I actually kinda like this look with everything exposed underneath.
