“Final Preparation” pizza tracker accuracy?

My truck showed in transit and the day it was delivered to the dealer it switched to final prep. So, doesn't make sense to me that it says final prep if it's sitting in a rail yard somewhere.

Maybe take a trip to the dealer and drive through the lot and see if it's sitting there?

I did check in with the dealer today and they say it is still waiting on the final truck transport.

But I should have been more clear. My tracker doesn’t say it is in final prep. I just want to keep an eye on it. Of course I’m eager to get my hands on it. More importantly, I plan to DIY paint rust decontamination and then a ceramic coating. As it arrives, I want to remind the dealer that I’d prefer no dealer wash to avoid the possibility of minor swirls and scratches in the paint. I'd rather not have to clay bar and then buff.

My Maverick has been setting in the destination rail yard for nine days, waiting for the final 30 mile transport to the dealer. Does anyone know if the “Final Preparation” on the Ford order tracking page reliably updates the same or at least the next day after the dealer signs for the delivery?

Final Preparations means it is at the dealer.

Thanks for that. My guess was that it meant it had arrived at the dealer, but I could not rule out that they might not update it until the PDI had actually started.

What is the mechanism at the dealer that causes the Ford tracker to update to Final Preparation? Is it when they e-sign for the vehicle delivery? Or is it some type of after the delivery human intervention? The reason I care is that I want to remind them not to wash it because I want to DIY a ceramic coat. But I don’t want to be a horrible pest to the dealer and call or email them every day

Once the driver has marked it delivered in his system the email will go out almost immediately. I've had customers receive that email before the sales department is notified with the paperwork from the Service Department.
