  1. A matter of perspective

I hear it all the time how small the Maverick is, but maybe it's only small compared to the behemoths today's full sized trucks have become. Here is my Mav parked behind my 1999 Grand Marquis, a real full sized land yacht. Even though it's shorter overall the Maverick looks quite large to me...
  2. What are you excited to use your Maverick for?

Just got mine and am loving being able to put 25x40lb bags of fuel pellets in the bed along with dog food and chicken feed. So done with carrying 10 bags at a time in my hatchback!
  3. Maverick Amateur Radio Club

Did you complete the install? New member here, just read your post. I have a 102" whip I want to use for HF, not sure where to mount, was even considering a possible hitch mount since I have the optional trailer hitch.
  4. Maverick Amateur Radio Club

I had an early model Kia that would shift out of electronic overdrive 4th gear back into 3rd gear when keying up my 250 watt amplifier, very annoying! Seems the Maverick is pretty well insulated from RF though. Have you thought of getting a license? I had my doubts as a CBer but it's great to...

If your photos are in a desktop folder they should be fairly easy to find from here. When you make a new post just select the "add files" button. From there you can navigate to your photos and media folder, highlight and select, and the picture will appear in your post! You can also post pics...
  6. Maverick Amateur Radio Club

Any pictures? I plan on a 10 meter install myself, seems plenty of room in the cab just pondering antenna options, not a big magnet fan. The ferrite works great, as a low budget alternative you can coil the coax several turns at the antenna and secure the loop with tape. This also "chokes...

Me too! Please post pictures if you do. I have a 102 whip in my basement that is looking for a new home :)
  8. Maverick Amateur Radio Club

Hi, new member here...Just wondering are you speaking of directly drawing the power from the battery? Because even if the alternator doesn't maintain a constant charge voltage I'm sure the battery itself has to be relatively stable. Also I'm sure the charge circuit will kick in if the battery...
  9. Maverick Owners Are The Most Loyal, According to Loyalty Awards Report

If I might add 1 thing concerning cheap plastic just from my own experiences....My other vehicle I commuted with for years is a 2017 Prius Prime plug-in which was several thousand dollars more than the Maverick when purchased. The interior is supposedly an environmentally friendly soy based...
  10. Maverick Owners Are The Most Loyal, According to Loyalty Awards Report

I still don't quite get the "cheap plastic" argument....There are no car companies short of maybe Bentley that would use actual wood or stainless steel in their interiors, basically everyone uses plastic. That being said, I've seen videos where folks complain how easily the plastic is scuffed...
  11. Black Maverick XL unexpected driver reactions

    🤣🤣🤣 I like!
  12. Black Maverick XL unexpected driver reactions

Here's just one more "unmarked" PD vehicle
  13. Black Maverick XL unexpected driver reactions

Kind of a surprising observation I made driving my new Maverick which is the base model in black, which also has the black grille bar and all black trim, when driving behind a car everybody keeps driving very slowly and deliberately....Annoying until I realized that the Mav bears a close...
  14. How do you install Android Auto?

With my Android phone as soon as I plug in the cable, it asks my consent to file sharing. I notice if I don't consent or ignore the prompt the connection does not establish. Not sure if this is a thing with everybody.
  15. Still can’t decide ecoboost vs hybrid

I went from a Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid to an EcoBoost non-hybrid.. the reason? I just retired and am not commuting long distances. I really think it's dependent on the driving that you do, if you are driving a lot definitely the hybrid is a good value for the extra money but if you're...
  16. Direct vs Port injection (Ecoboost/ Hybrid), catch can explained

One more thought...Perhaps a fuel filter with a clear casing could be installed inline between the PCV valve and the manifold, which would also remove oil and particulates, while allowing the owner to monitor accumulations through the clear housing. If there's a lot of residue, then further...
  17. Direct vs Port injection (Ecoboost/ Hybrid), catch can explained

Not sure if any older folks here remember that on older model cars, the PCV valve blow by was routed into the air filter housing, and where it entered the housing there was a small foam filter that would catch the oil and become saturated over time but allowed air to pass through. It could then...
  18. Does the Maverick have port fuel injection, or direct fuel injection or both?

I have seen videos showing that 2023 and newer Edge models and Mustangs have a 2.0 Eco Boost with both direct and multi port injection. However, it seems the Maverick, including my 2024, still have the older model engine with direct injection only.
