If you can get the right Motorcraft part number and buy it online you are getting an OEM part.

The parts dept gave you a part number with a base of 9D653 which is for an evap canister. The service dept number with a base of 9D289 is for a vapor management valve tube assembly.

Thanks for posting about the battery life of the add on keypad. I've read a lot of posts that complain about not being able to replace the battery in those units that never stated how long the original battery lasted.
