  2. how times have changed..

Follow-up question - do you think we should still change the oil at 3mo/3k miles?
  3. Extended Warranty - Recommendations? Worth it?

Your thinking is how they sell these policies. Remember, they wouldn't sell them if they were losing money on them. "Computers" don't just go bad, especially after 3 years and 36k miles. If they are going to fail, they are likely to fail early on and be covered.
  4. Extended Warranty - Recommendations? Worth it?

Yup. or you can blow through the miles/years without ever claiming a dime against your warranty
  5. Maverick featured on REALTRUCK ad/article today

Where's the companion article / trivia game? How many hundreds of dollars of racks does it take to put a $300 cooler on the roof of your truck instead of the bed? #accessorize
  6. Extended Warranty - Recommendations? Worth it?

It is an insurance policy. They sell them because they make money selling them, not because it is a money making deal for the purchaser. If you can afford to self insure, do so. You'll save money over your lifetime.
  7. How to prevent plastic oxidation?

Dirt and dust protect my finishes. Can't remember how far back in 2025 was the last wash. oh and true even when the plastic was brand new
  8. Auto Start / Stop mandate repealed!

Mine is just one tire that never connects - I'm thinking battery died. Started a couple months ago. PSI fine all around. I won't touch it (spend $) until tires get replaced in a couple more years.
  9. Auto Start / Stop mandate repealed!

It is annoying that EB drivers have to hit the ASS button each drive and hybrids have to hit the mode button 4 times for ECO, when both could be easily fixed via software option. (and since I currently have a bad TPMS, I have to hit OK first, then 4x mode, or 5x mode to get there) -- still not...
  10. Ecoboost AWD vs AWD Hybrid MPG is closer than you think

It would if they repeated the test many times and also did much longer tests - more miles and more gallons before refueling. There is simply no way to have an accurate test when pumping 1.0xx gallons outside of a lab. But that's not the reason this video exists - it was made for...
  11. Ecoboost AWD vs AWD Hybrid MPG is closer than you think

Agreed 100% All makes do this. Most also seem to have your speedo read ~2mph high from the factory. Both biases are introduced in a way to be better for the consumer - think they're getting better mpg; think they're driving faster than they are.
  12. Ecoboost AWD vs AWD Hybrid MPG is closer than you think

Yes same gas pump, but seriously how scientific is that? When you're pumping only a gallon, there can be a large error introduced. More miles / gallons and more tests to reach any true conclusion.
  13. 2024 Hybrid 2.5 engine milkshake

I've never experienced it in living in Cen/So California, with hybrids. Its a cold weather, short trip thing.
  14. Auto Start / Stop mandate repealed!

In before the lock. Are we going to repeal traction control, airbags, seat belts, crumple zones, etc next? All those make cars expensive. That darn gov't can't mandate my safety. Don't tread on me, bro. Gov't mandates are lame. I sure love how much mpg my EB ICE Mav gets, though. I'm not a...
  15. Weird Hybrid sound, sounds like a hum?

HVAC condenser fan? Cold morning and defrost on or hot and A/C on?
  16. big back ones little front ones

You have a FWD Maverick, like me. We're closer to this: than this:
  17. The worst deals on new cars right now The Ford Maverick?

Maybe you have to be smarter than AI to spot it.
  18. What’s the ONE piece of advice you’d give to a new Maverick owner?

Always listen and be nice to the AI bots - they will be taking over soon.
  19. Okay, maybe there's something to this detergent thing?!?

My first new car I ever purchased, I kept track of all the costs - I named one category "warm and fuzzy" - because the money spent on it wasn't required for maintenance or an upgrade; so I get it. I've also moved on from spending time at BITOG (bob is the oil guy) back in the day, where various...
