The DOT mark on the housing means the manufacturer claims the design meets FMVSS-108 standards and has placed the marking accordingly — not that the DOT independently tested or approved that specific unit...

My '23 XL was optioned out at ~$24.5k (CP360 and 2k tow), so maybe that's why I'm not as PO'd about this issue? --- b/c it's a cheap vehicle. Always starts, never been back to dealer.

It doesn't hold until engine/coolant is warm - just a short time until the cat is warmed up.
It is noticeable compared to older vehicles that sat around 950 rpms. At least I notice it, along with some other people.
