The gauge cluster that shows up on the tremor build is that of the hybrid - you can tell by the power meter instead of the tach. So I'd bet this is a mistake.

Unless "California" is a city in Canada, you absolutely have a setting in the menus to disable DRL permanently. I did this on my 2022 XL. Look through the menus in the cluster.
