No lane centering at all on any XLT. Lane assist, yes.. but lane centering is exclusive to Lariat Lux and couples with adaptive cruise.

Amen to that.. the smell is something that stays with you. The last time I was in an accident where airbags deployed was 2003 and I can still smell it.

Can't compare lights for your house to automotive grade lighting. Also, lamps inside your house have significantly more use than what you'd find in a typical vehicle.

The Lariat does have LED strips in the tail lights that the other trims do not have. But the brake/signal lamps are incandescent.

Unless "California" is a city in Canada, you absolutely have a setting in the menus to disable DRL permanently. I did this on my 2022 XL. Look through the menus in the cluster.
