@Johnkn and @olderbudwiser what are you 2 bickering about? Not everyone gets a signed purchase agreement at the time of ordering. Good for you if you did.
No one has financed a car without a signed contract.
I think you guys are talking about 2 different things.
Ideally, you ask and are told up front if they have "required" add-ons. But you are 100% incorrect if you think they can't force them. They can and they do, and there is nothing you can do about it short of walking away from the purchase.
The listing may not be accurate.. just FYI.
They're so completely different. If you can really get the F-150 at that price you're not likely to lose out, even if you end up trading it for the Maverick.
Keep in mind - unless something has changed very recently - you cannot modify an order to change the engine. Your dealer telling you that they can seems to indicate they really have no idea what they're on about.
Unless you have a signed buyers agreement, there is not much you can do other than complain.
It is important to have a good dealer, even if it is not local.
Sounds like your dealer is misinterpreting the widely available information. Tell them to leave the order alone. Per Tim Bartz, you can't even change the engine now anyway. It was always a crapshoot - just wait.

For a while during the pandemic, Honda delivered new vehicles with only one key. They later mailed the second ones once the chips became available. Not ideal, but in the end you did get 2 identically functional fobs.
So Ford is just going to give you one for good. The second one just a key that...
I haven't had issues with Ed at Chapman in PHL. I had no issues ordering from him in 2021, and I referred someone who had no issues ordering from him 2 weeks ago. He replies to every email and, although I don't email often, it has been a year since I ordered so I have exchanged several with him...
