  1. Blinker noise too loud

This thread really drives home the fact that small inexpensive trucks have always been popular with two groups. Youngsters just starting off in life who aren't rolling in the scrilla yet, or like to customize. And older people who just want something simple and utilitarian that won't drain their...
  2. Blinker noise too loud

I was under the impression relays aren't used any more. Most of the time the sound is played over the left dash speaker by the BCM. Correct me if I'm wrong. I replaced the stereo head unit with an aftermarket in my 06 pontiac and lost blinker noise, door chime, and key reminder chime.
  3. Blinker noise too loud

Just be patient. Eventually you will get old enough you can't hear it anymore.
  4. Folding Rear Headrests Installed

I had these in my 17 Colorado and was disappointed the mav's didn't fold. I just put them under the seat yesterday. One thing I refused to be without on my Mav was blind spot warning as the Colorado didn't have it and after driving my wife's suv on trips, I really came to like it.
  5. Your Other Rides!?

117K. 18 yrs old. Been all over the country in it with my wife.
  6. Maxzina-Maverick Hood Vent Available Now!

I've seen better looking hood scoops in the "customizing" aisle at Autozone.
  7. Which Flip Up Tonneau Cover?

I had a bakflip on my 17 colorado and it looked good and worked well, except for blocking rear window in 3 fold mode, as others have said. This time I didn't feel like spending almost a grand so I went with the cheap trifold type you see all over ebay. It is very thick, doesn't look sleek at...
  8. Used first road trip to establish my median "pure" highway mileage.

Thanks and I agree. In this case however I wasn't going for max mileage. I was going for a close comparison to the way I normally drive the trip in an ice car. My wife's Tucson gets right at 30 on the same trip so I'm happy with 37. Also, driving 60 in a 75 mph zone on I-20 is a good way to...
  9. Used first road trip to establish my median "pure" highway mileage.

Had to go to Louisiana for wife to visit her mom last weekend and decided to get as pure a highway mileage as possible. Dallas to Lafayette is about as flat a drive as I can access from here. Some low rolling hills in east Texas, but that's about it. Miles: 350 miles from the Buc-ee's in...

This might be a fun place to meet up for lunch sometime. https://maps.app.goo.gl/LUbTTi73Avkgex7SA
  12. Got stranded by the auto lock feature?

I have a 24 with no keypad but they are fairly cheap so I bought one with my ford points. Put it on lower left corner of back window so it's mostly hidden by my trifold bed cover.
  13. One tank of gas: 850+ miles on Hybrid Maverick!

I would kill for an original Bally Playboy.
  14. One tank of gas: 850+ miles on Hybrid Maverick!

I've had mine since May and 1900 miles. All city with occasional short runs on freeway. First tank was 41mpg, second 42 and third 44. Going on 400 mile trip Friday, all flat interstate. Planning on 73 in 70 zones, and 78 in 75. In other words, the way I normally drive. Looking forward to...
  15. If I had known this, when I bought my Maverick....

My previous truck was a 2017 colorado Z71 in 2wd, (they had those back then), and was a great truck but had two problems. The newly designed 8 speed trans had a issue with the torque converter foaming up about every 5K. The first time they replaced my converter with a new design. 2nd time they...
  16. I Hate the Stupid Dial Shifter: Now With Poll

Sorry if this is a bit morbid, but you know who really hates confusing shifters? This guy's family. https://www.consumerreports.org/grand-cherokee/recalled-shifter-may-have-played-part-in-anton-yelchin-death/
  17. Prerunner build out testing / Toys For Tots run

Looks like a ton of fun! Man, I wish Texas had "HuUUUGE ..tracks of land" that was publicly accessible for off grid camping. Other than state parks, everything here is privately owned, unless I'm mistaken, which is often the case. If I am, someone please enlighten me. I'd love to try my hand...
  18. Outer Banks trip: trying out Sand Mode

Just don't do this please... :)
