I think you are onto something. I took my truck to autozone and had them check the battery. They said it was ok but it needed charge because it's at only 60%.
I guess we just live with it.....
Keep a lipo jumper pack with you, that's what I do.
lol yes.
I took it to autozone, no power on their tool either. My tool has a provision to power it though USB, tried that. No data. IDK, I guess I'll just leave it alone..................
I guess I’ll just try shoving it on, man it just doesn’t feel right
edit: I lubed it a bit with wd 40 and it seems to seat. I think the power is dead at the port, gonna try autozones scanner.
@Montana
I went to plug in my scanner and no joy. The plug fit unusually tight and no power. All the pins are straight and I confirmed it works on another car to be sure. I’m thinking of going to Autozone but I’m kind of scared they will break something. Anyone know what’s going on?
@Senior Master Ford Guy ?
My concern now is that my truck is most likely constantly trying to charge my crap battery. I tried to top it off with two different chargers and they both shut down before they charged. I don’t like the idea that it could be straining to charge constantly. 🤷‍♂️
As far as starting as you know...
Well, after my draw is fixed and my truck "starts" in the morning... I checked it this morning (sat for about 14 hours) and the battery is at 11.4 volts. I can't believe my dealer won't give me one. They says it checks good.
My battery chargers will not charge it all the way, I know it's bad...
Well since the alarm was disconnected the noises haven’t happened. Too soon to tell for sure though.
Edit, update. The noises do not happen anymore when I just get near the truck. I have to open the door then it does the relays noise. Apparently the alarm was waking it up by using the sensors...
Yes, funny thing is I told them about the alarm when I first took it in. I saw it when I was getting the code for the keypad on the truck under that passenger side cover. Why it took 3 days for them to eliminate it as a cause I don’t know. The Service writer said it was connected to the PCM...
update. I got my truck back after 3 days. They said it was an alarm that was installed by a different dealer. They wanted to charge me but they called the dealer and they said they will pay the bill. I was shocked.
I will know tomorrow morning if it is fixed.
Never did get a battery :(
Sounds like they are too cheap to give you a battery too.
They say the battery is good which I know is wrong. They told me it's a tough repair, it has a draw.....
Hopefully I'll get an update today. I have to call them, the service writer never calls me. I left him a message about an hour ago...
it drains overnight.
It very well could need a reset, the battery has died 5 times over night over the last week or so.
It was at Ford for a check too, they take it out to check it so ya, I doubt they reset it.
I don't really know if a reset is a "thing", I did read it here not from a Ford...
interesting. Mine seams to charge good because it will charge the battery up at least enough for it to start the rest of the day, but over night no joy.
Could be though.....
I think the battery cable causes a no electrical even when the battery is up, or when jumped at the battery. I can jump mine at the battery or under the hood and it will fire up every time. Then I can drive it all day and then the next morning, dead as can be.
@Senior Master Ford Guy
Well, my truck has been at the dealer 3 days. dead battery every morning for a week.
They say it has a bad draw. They also say the battery is good. I don't know how when my charger won't charge it and it's been drawn down to 5 volts every day.
Anyhoo, I gave them the...
