24S59 is still "advanced notice" only. Ford hasn't even updated dealers about what the repair procedure will be.
And no, for this recall, the dealer wouldn't keep your truck if you brought it in for service. It is not a "stop drive" recall. But new vehicles can't be sold if this recall is open.
Did you check and see if it has an open recall?
If you want to send me your VIN I can check and sent you OASIS screenshot.
Dealer's are unable to report sales of vehicles w/ open recalls to Ford until the claim is processed.
The problem here is that the full synthetic option wasn't purchased.
The service department will check the details of the program in OASIS. It will show whether or not the full synthetic option was purchased. If that wasn't purchased, Ford won't pay for full synthetic when the dealer submits...
FYI
Dealers don't "submit" anything to Ford pass. Ford automatically takes repair order data from Ford dealers overnight. So there is an automated process used to identify repairs eligible to generate Ford Pass points. Sometimes there can be failures in this process.
Dealers do have to "opt...
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. 219A64 is the latch assembly. I see 4 part #s. LH & RH. And then whether it has passive entry or not. Retail price ranging from $97.48 to $369.73 right now.
Your numbers aren't part numbers, but rather software numbers.
I assume that more changes than simply adding APIM would be needed for it to work, but I am not a technician!
The APIM would be something in addition to the ACM.
The ACM in 22-24 non-SYNC 3 Mavericks is:
MX7Z-18806-A
For 22-24...
Well, I learned one thing! The non-sync 3 Mavericks don't even have an APIM!! I assumed they still had an APIM, just a stripped down version.
"All audio and infotainment operations are housed in the ACM" (ACM = audio control module)
Do we know exactly what was tried?? I haven't seen any details about what they did (or didn't) change for 24s and why they had to add those to the recall too.
My 22 XLT hasn't had any APIM updates. I have had a frozen/delayed camera on rare occasions (as well as glitchy "sync" more...
I think to save $ they will try to modify/add memory/processing power somehow.... or use a different camera that will work better with the weak non-sync 3 APIM.
We didn't get any details...but the latest communication to dealers from Ford about this recall did indicate that parts would be involved (all they actually said was that "delays in final repair and parts availability" were anticipated).
16,000+ is what I got.
I should add - that's what I can see on the tool that dealers use to see inventory at other dealerships. So those are 2024 XL & XLTs on dealers lot in USA. Dealers can "hide" vehicles from showing up on there, so there may be more than the 16,000 I found.
If you want to send me your VIN, I can see if any codes were stored that I can access remotely. If you activated Ford Pass in the past (even though you didn't use the app), I should be able to do that. I can send you a screen shot of what I can see if that will help you!
There was a part number change....but exactly what was changed in the part itself, I can't say. Could just be a manufacturer change. Or some material change. Or something else.
