  1. Car and Driver instrument tested review: Maverick 2.0 AWD does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds!

well one thing to consider is that Rivian gave Motortrend exclusive driving rights over the summer (there were some really pissed auto journalists About that). So there might be some conflict of interest. Still look at the other winners Motortrend gave out this year. They gave car of the year...
  2. Car and Driver instrument tested review: Maverick 2.0 AWD does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds!

They are based out of Boulder. TFL tested a bunch of new trucks, all turbocharged except for the new Frontier and they all had times about half a second from each other. The Frontier had a crappy time well over 9 seconds. Gas engines are greatly affected by elevation. Especially N.A. Engines...
  3. Car and Driver instrument tested review: Maverick 2.0 AWD does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds!

It is pretty simple. Some people are only now getting a hybrid Maverick, even though they ordered in June. The question really is, “how badly do you want your Maverick right now?” I know it’s not as bad as a Bronco order but still, that’s why i cancelled a hybrid Maverick order and bought an...
  4. Extang Trifecta 2.0 soft-fold tonneau cover installed

I basically guessed too, I think I put mine close to the end in the back without anything sticking out. i did leave some room toward the cab in case the Velcro clips flap so they don’t hit the cab. i do wonder if moving those back further will help make it fit better
  5. FWD vs AWD for acceleration?

ya, I mean my Maverick is at the very light end weighing in at 3567 lbs. Still, the one thing all th auto journalists have mentioned was that it’s hard to get a good hookup of traction on the fwd ecoboost. Car and Driver, which I think is in Michigan, has the best track times on most cars and...
  6. FWD vs AWD for acceleration?

Remember, TFL is in Boulder, CO where the elevation is over a mile high and they even say they lose a second in 0-60 time due to lower air density. The hybrid did a bit better because it starts out and is assisted by the electric motor, which is not affect by elevation.
  7. Extang Trifecta 2.0 soft-fold tonneau cover installed

Ya, I found the one hook on the passenger side is tougher to get in and is tighter than the other side which is perfect. I do notice some flutter from the cover but I had this with another cover from my Ram a few years ago and it wasn’t an issue.
  8. Aftermarket tailgate assist ?

the issue with the tailgate assist on the Maverick is you do have to remove the bottle opener/ bed tie down on the driver’s side. Other than that, everything else is good
  9. Extang Trifecta 2.0 soft-fold tonneau cover installed

No I didn’t, I did see the video that some may, but the Maverick has a standard bed rail lip that these tonneau covers attach to. Some older trucks do not have that lip, and some, like the Ridgeline, do not have that lip at all so on Ridgeline’s you have to install another rail to create the...
  10. Car and Driver instrument tested review: Maverick 2.0 AWD does 0-60 in 5.9 seconds!

Car and Driver just updated their Maverick testing and got an AWD with 4K towing package a 0-60 time of 5.9 seconds! Car and Driver usually has the best drivers, their own truck, and lower elevation to get the best times. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a37852234/2022-ford-maverick-drive/
  11. Ford Maverick is a Finalist for 2022 MotorTrend Truck of the Year Award

I hope the Maverick wins but I am a bit surprised that the new Tundra didn’t get on as a contender or a finalist. Did Motortrend not get a Tundra in? Most auto journalists have had no problems getting the tundra and it is now out on sale (unlike the Hummer EV). I will say Motortrend has...
  12. Forbes names Maverick Car of the Year

Looks like Forbes also gave the Maverick pickup of the year as well. at the bottom of the year there is a thing you can click on and it shows all their award winners and the Maverick has two awards. https://www.forbes.com/wheels/features/2022-ford-maverick-pickup-of-the-year/
  13. Real world fuel mileage MPG results by 2.0 EcoBoost owners - check in here

I think it does matter depending on what the truck is and it’s bed length. I had a 2019 ram 1500 quad cab with a 6’4 inch bed and after I put a tonneau cover on it the mpg went up 1-1.6 mpg. I don’t think it will provide as much on the Maverick but it probably could help, especially on...
  14. Coverking Velour Dash Cover

Here is the link for it. CarId has it cheaper but they charge shipping and tax. https://www.carid.com/2022-ford-maverick-dash-covers/coverking-custom-velour-dash-cover-4396349712.html.
  15. Are the base seats height adjustable?

i am also 6’4 and more long legged so the seat height adjust helps, but there is one issue with Ford: Ford height adjusters also can push you forward. So if you adjust the seat high, it will push you forward and you lose legroom, if you go down, it will push you backwards and you will gain...
  16. Coverking Velour Dash Cover

You would be surprised I had a 2006 Corolla new and the Florida sun damaged the dash and chipped the steering wheel into little pieces. Florida is about as close to hell as you can get without getting your feet burned… or that is what they say about Australia, down under.
  17. Coverking Velour Dash Cover

Mostly, just to cover the dash so the sun and UV rays don’t crack the dash (a problem in a state like Florida)
  18. Coverking Velour Dash Cover

I ordered a Coverking dash cover recently and got it today. It is Velour and it is Medium Blue. It fits fairly decently. One thing to keep in mind is that you probably will have to cut a bigger space for the auto lamp sensor. The whole is way too small for the dash cover. Coverking, I...
