  1. Get a dash cam!

Sometimes I even spot one in the bathroom mirror!
  2. Pulling RV

I thought most of the friction you encountered in your previous thread related to your stated premise that you needed a 5Klb trailer, because there weren't any/enough 4Klb trailers that suited your needs, rather than people opposed to pulling a trailer at all. I don't think you'll find many...
  3. Oil catch can installed

It might help prevent or slow down a problem that is arguably endemic to direct injection engines. Did you spot all the weasel-words in that sentence?
  4. Air Jack: BEST RECOVERY Device EVER! Maverick high centered

I'm not looking to take the Maverick wheeling, but does anyone make skidplates for them? EDIT: too answer my own question, looks like yes, there are a few. Not sure that any of the ones In seeing would have helped with this specific damage, though...
  5. First Time Seeing Orange Fury 2026 Maverick!

It's my second favorite color available on the '26.
  6. GPS Ripoff

You got a phone? Because if so, I've got some amazing news for you.
  7. Maverick badge

    Somebody broke the Toyota logo!
  8. Maverick badge

I'm not one for putting stickers on my car, but...it's kinda cute.
  9. Need to pull trailer with 2026 Maverick Lariat 4k tow

I'm curious about your specific needs, because there are rather a lot of travel trailers that will work just fine within the Maverick's rated limitations. Can you exceed them? Probably. There's usually some buffer for consumer stupidity built into these types of things. But it hardly seems like...
  10. Hybrid engine racing going downhill

"Local driver discovers engine braking. This story and more, at 11!"
  11. How long should I let it idle?

    Magical thinking.
  12. 2025 Lariat HyBrid AWD - no trim decals from factory?

It's nice, isn't it? I like the cleaner look.
  13. Easy to handle hard truck bed cover suggestions

I've learned one thing in all my reading on this subject: everybody loves what they bought. So I kinda suspect they're mostly all fine. Assume some degree of get-what-you-pay-for-edness in the build materials, set a budget and buy the name you recognize.
  14. How do I know if my maverick has a rain sensor?

Mine (2nd gen Mini) has never done anything weird. It makes okay guesses. But nothing with more accuracy than a low-med-high intermittent setting. It's...fine. I'm happy to add this to the list of Weird Omissions from the Maverick, but it's not one that I feel very strongly about.
  15. How do I know if my maverick has a rain sensor?

I've had rain sensors on my daily for the last 13 years and... I'm really not convinced they're useful. At least no more than any, regular intermittent system. Most rain, you just want them on. Or REALLY on. Anything lighter, it's tricky to get the timing exactly where you want it, with or...
  16. Tire replacement time is approaching.

Yeah, it's not a tire I've seen mentioned much in hypermiling conversations.
  17. 2026 Color poll...

These results are interesting, but what would be *more* interesting to me is"which colors would you be willing to consider?" Because things like black and white are ranking very lowly, but I imagine they're acceptable alternatives for many, many people. Does the poll software here allow for...
  18. Tire replacement time is approaching.

Fwiw, the last leg of road to my weekend place is nearly a mile long, steeply inclined, rutted and so in need of fresh gravel that it basically qualifies as dirt at this point and the Defenders have handled it fine. ...In a fwd Prius V. For years.
  19. Tire replacement time is approaching.

Does this prerequisite mean you're looking for an A/T or M/T tire? I ask mostly because it seems somewhat at-odds with the rest of your wishlist. If you're okay with a tire that has zero off-road aspirations, I've yet to find one that is better at year-round quiet, comfortable cruising than the...
