It was a weird car and I think the world needs more weird cars, so I will mourn its passing.
But I never for a moment considered buying one. Lack of a hybrid option + my own inability to shake the stigma of the brand meant that it was never really an option for me.
I've been driving a second gen Mini for 13 years. I'd really prefer to get out of the rattly interior business, but I can't find any other vehicle on the market that covers the rest of my wants/needs as well as the Maverick.
I can see how to change out the seats and maybe wrap the door panels, but how would you add knobs or change the software? That feels like something baked in at the manufacturing level, not something that even a well-equipped custom shop could make happen.
