I don't get it. The 5/31 recall does not yet have a fix, according to Ford. And his vehicle IS within the date range covered by the recall. Why would it be a surprise that the site shows his VIN is affected by the 5/31 recall? Am I missing something?
Aside from all the other reasons given, why would one want to start the clock on the registration / property taxes / insurance for a vehicle that you cannot utilize? As long as Ford (or the dealership) still owns it, any liability for theft, damage, etc. is theirs. The minute you take...
Well that makes more sense. I just got so excited to actually see the window sticker! But what I was looking at is the "invoice date" in the "Special Order" box. My sticker doesn't show a blend date yet.
This afternoon, the "Order Status" for my VIN# changed. It now shows "In Production" (with the scheduled date unchanged - 6/9/23). When I click the "view window sticker" button it still says the window sticker for this vehicle is not yet available. But when I go to the...
Yeah - that's not the sound mine makes... Well, some of those sounds are like mine, but that really loud "clatter" during the shutdown (about 2/3 through the recording) is DEFINITELY different. I would suspect the balancers for that noise.
But the other recordings I've seen posted just seem...
Yes, it did, and so does my S-I-L's newer (but still 5+ year old) Prius. That sounds exactly like the sound it made shutting down the engine - pretty much every time. Usually goes unnoticed with all the squeaks, rattles, and clangs (think vehicle bouncing over potholes) made by the rest of the...
Not generally one to argue with GPSman, but I think I've listened to all the posts of recordings that claim to be "weird noises" and didn't hear any noises that my old Prius-C (that went 186,000 miles before I sold it) and my son-in-law's newer model Prius (which has over 100K now) don't also...
The OP updated his original post to show the actual recall notice from Ford. Ironically, that was just a couple of hours before your post was made, so you probably missed seeing it by only a few minutes!
The recall notice calls out Mavericks from MY 2022-2023 built at the Hermosillo plant on...
We really need to expand our nuclear power production, and make it simpler to get them approved and up and running. But it's not so much the government being slow to approve them... They get held up by the constant barrage of lawsuits from everyone from "NIMBY" groups (not in my back yard) to...
Well, today I learned something that is NOT covered in the manual! That was a very nice, simple video demonstrating something that would have been hard to do with just words! Well done!
A few years ago, there was a guy who went around the country proving how strong he was by towing a Boeing 747 about 50 feet across the taxiway, all by himself. Yeah, he was a big, strong guy, but it's really all about overcoming the initial rolling resistance when the item you're pulling in on...
Thanks to living in the NE Texas boonies (and to Ford's total lack of advertising for this truck), I did not learn about the Maverick until well after the MY22 order books were closed - about the time we moved to the Austin, TX area. Once I discovered it, I thought it would be the perfect truck...
Clearly not, if you think my purchase after 12 months of waiting was an "impulse" buy... I would have bought a Maverick in early 2022, but my local Ford dealer told me they were sold out through the end of the model year. I asked about placing an order, and was told I had to wait until the...
My first two trips were 500-600 miles each (round trip) when my Maverick Hybrid was brand new, and I had no idea how to optimize mileage. I was driving 75-80 mph in temperatures well below freezing (17ºF one trip, 24ºF the other). To make matters worse, I had strong headwinds (20-30 mph) both...
Oh, absolutely. I paid extra to avoid the line, just like at DisneyWorld... And I know that folks who didn't pay extra at Disney probably resent that as well. I'm just saying it's a long leap from that statement to "dealers are stealing people's ordered vehicles" because others are willing to...
Pretty big assumption on your part. Lots of folks bailed on Mavericks because they a) didn't like it once they actually saw it, or b) couldn't get it financed when the rates went up, or c) got tired of waiting or needed a vehicle sooner than their order came through. I've only read a couple of...
I bought my Maverick Hybrid First Edition from Mac Haik in Georgetown. It was someone else's order who had bailed on it after waiting several months for the air bag recall to get done (no parts). They were totally up-front about the fact there would be some ADM added to the MSRP, and I was OK...
